From that new picture:

Conrad
Cedric

Joseph- Joe.

Joe is a nice, sweet boy who will grow into a strong decent man.

Please don't use any of the names that your husband likes.

MyFavouriteClintonisGeorge · 29/03/2016 19:07

Squidge those cheeks for me!

Must go, my ovaries are starting to twang, and DH says we aren't having anymore!

I like Oakley and Noah

Goingtobeawesome · 29/03/2016 19:18

Congratulate your mil on being the mother of the first man to give birth....

susurration · 29/03/2016 19:20

Oh dear. Sorry your H is being a bit of a knob about it all.

Could Dexter work as a compromise?

Nobodyspecialanymore · 29/03/2016 19:28

The baby is gorgeous! Congratulations!
I read the thread and felt very upset on your behalf. The bullying and sidelining of you by your mil and 'd'h, the demands is all rather red flag-y.
Could you go stay with family or friends? I really would consider leaving the bastard over his behavior.
Call that boy whatever you like. You earnt that right.

Poppins27 · 29/03/2016 19:29

I like most of your list, particularly Daniel and Benjamin (both were in my list 3 weeks ago), but I also like surnamey names too and I had suggested Fletcher too so as we have a similar taste I thought I'd give you my other 'maybes'.

Parker, Dylan, Teddy, and Buddy.

We settled on Albert (Bertie) Harry, seems quite a 'marmite' choice but my DS didn't suit many other prettier names?!

Took us a week to decide...good luck with the zillion messages you will get pestering for a name!!

HerbieRidesAgain · 29/03/2016 19:30

Rueben, or Noah :) he is totally scrumptious

GreenLounger · 29/03/2016 19:32

GrinGrin you really have brought my spirits up! Thank you xx

He says serial killer to Dexter (we have seen the show)

He's all snuggly!

Is mil goading him on with his bullying?
You really deserve better than being treated this way.
That's a beautiful baby!

Chooseymeahouseplease · 29/03/2016 20:09

Reuben nn rubio or George Victor.

Eruggghhhh what a twat your MIL is!
Have you told your DH that we all think he's acting like a controlling bellend? You've just given birth to his PFB, he should be kissing your feet!

Flowers for you! He is absolutely gorgeous!!

bettybyebye · 29/03/2016 20:11

Please stop trying to compromise with your H as he is being completely unreasonable!
Play him at his own game and simply refuse to consider anymore of his ridiculous suggestions. He is already getting one middle name and his surname and that is enough IMO. If I were you I would choose your favourite and just present it to him as a fait accompli. And as for MIL, tell her to knob off and that you will name the baby without any input from her.

Congratulations on your gorgeous DS!

bettybyebye · 29/03/2016 20:12

Ps - is your H aware that Rubio means "blond" in Spanish?! Not very appropriate given all that gorgeous dark hair!

GreenLounger · 29/03/2016 20:15

They seem to think I'm not part of my son's life, like I just carried him around and gave birth to him to give away role of 'mum'! Angry

Yep, I read out the comments and he was all moaning!

I said "his name will be Daniel" (I like it) and he phoned up MIL and there goes my phone! 12 missed calls, 12.

Nobodyspecialanymore · 29/03/2016 20:22

Daniel is lovely.
Have you and Daniel got somewhere to go to have a break to bond away from the stresses of your husband and his mom?
Just give dh some time out to think his behavior thru?

228agreenend · 29/03/2016 20:24

Daniel is gorgeous, and thank for sharing the picture.

GreenLounger · 29/03/2016 20:26

Thank you Smile

I've just been thinking about my list lately and I really think Daniel is beginning to suit him, in a way, it may be my 2nd or 3rd favourite, but it suits him and it's nice that his friends can call him Dan... I quite like the NN Danny too!

I'd probably call him the full Daniel though! Well, my mum is several hours away. I only have a hotel near, which I really feel like escaping to! But it's probably not very fair Sad

Thank you again xx

Sorry that you are having all this aggro over the name.
Your son is so beautiful!

Victor is really quite cool, I think, as well as having a great meaning. As others have said on a different thread, it's an old name ready to be revived. Would your DH accept Victor with 'Vix' as nickname, perhaps? He seems to like lots of other names containing the letter 'x'.

DingleberryFinn · 29/03/2016 20:31

In all seriousness, this right now is one of the toughest stages in a relationship - when you go from being a couple to couple+baby, i.e. a new family. It is a big, big adjustment.

Your MIL needs to back off and let the 3 of you adjust to your new family unit. Of course she is part of the extended family, but you and DH need to find your feet as new parents. She's probably forgotten what that's like. And your DH need to adjust to being part of a family unit, and work with you - his priority should be supporting you right now, and helping you avoid UNNECESSARY STRESS.

If that means you both agree to back off from discussing names for a bit, so be it - but the important thing is that he is making your life easier, not harder, right now. Otherwise, what's the point of him?

YakTriangle · 29/03/2016 20:32

Daniel is lovely, will he not accept that with one of his weird ass middle babe choices? I can't believe he's being this much of an arse

YakTriangle · 29/03/2016 20:33

*middle name, not babe. DYAC

FattyNinjaOwl · 29/03/2016 20:33

Daniel really does suit him.
