How about:

Morgan
Austin
Aaron

MyFavouriteClintonisGeorge · 29/03/2016 02:02

I actually like the suggestion of Devon from your DH's list. Griffin is pretty good too.
Andre, nn Dre, is bearable (Dr. Dre's first name is actually Andre).

How about:
Arne
Magnus
Marcus
Tyrone
Lincoln
Denzil
Hadrian
Conan
Titus
Jago (Cornish for Jacob)
Morgan
Dexter
Tymon
Merryn
Grey (used in Scotland as a first name)
Laurence/Lawrence
Hartley
Huxley
Aubrey
Cyrus nn Cy
Wulfstan nn Stan (or Wulf!)
Cees (Dutch, pron Kayys)
Stefan
Florian
Tybalt
Urban (the name of many popes)
If you have to go double-barrelled, stick to Mark-Anthony!

Rubymay · 29/03/2016 02:32

What about Kai, Lewis, James, Tadgh ( tigh) Oisín, Liam!

Beeziekn33ze · 29/03/2016 02:46

Lovely baby, congratulations! I like Alexander, several short forms to choose from: Alex, Sandy, Zander, Lex etc.

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 29/03/2016 07:38

If you and he have different surnames I wouldn't automatically agree that baby has his. Stop talking about it for now and just enjoy your baby. He's lovely!

ChannelFiftySeven · 29/03/2016 08:11

I've been lurking on this thread (gorgeous baby, congrats!) I think Cillian would suit FWIW.

Crying at the inception suggestion - hilarious! And so funny that your DP thinks he named DS 4fingers Grin

Thewolfsjustapuppy · 29/03/2016 08:13

There was a little Hector in the playground the other day it sounded perfect.
Griffin and Phoenix are not bad, I prefer Griffin but maybe that's because having lived in Wales I knew a few.
There is a Rocco in DS's class which has really grown on me and he is a sweet little boy too.

GreenLounger · 29/03/2016 08:25

He'll have Rubio, NN Reuben, but not the other way around Angry

Tikketyboo · 29/03/2016 08:37

What about Spencer?

thebestfurchinchilla · 29/03/2016 08:42

Dre??? Is he into rap?

theveryhighlife · 29/03/2016 08:46

Congratulations! I had a baby born on Easter Sunday (a few years ago now!) We couldn't agree on a name for a couple of weeks, so I feel your pain! He was very nearly Alexander, but it really didn't suit him, so we went with Joshua in the end. Dp chose the awful middle name

Magicpinkshadow · 29/03/2016 08:53

These may have already been suggested

Logan
Jenson
Ayrton
Ashton
Cody
Ray
Gregory
Hudson
Jamie
Jason
James
Jacob
Jordan
Kyron
Kai
Shane

SoupDragon · 29/03/2016 08:53

Is your H usually a controlling bully? Does he realise what he is doing?

I honestly can't believe that someone who is normally nice can be such a twat.

NoSquirrels · 29/03/2016 08:56

He'll have Rubio, NN Reuben, but not the other way around

Start to play his game now, OP. Tell him you won't have it the other way around, so that's your last offer, or you'll both end up with a name you hate.

Reuben, NN Rubio. He'll be called by the name your DP prefers EVERY DAY, and have something you like on the birth certificate. If he won't go for that, he is being a knob of the biggest proportions and just in some strange power struggle with you.

Artandco · 29/03/2016 08:56

Cassius
Timon
Caspian

I like Griffin though also.

Griffin Rubio Alexander Surname

Undercooked · 29/03/2016 09:00

Does he know that Rubio is a far right Republican presidential candidate in the US?

I hope you get a day of all bonding together with yourgorgeois baby and leaving naming aside.

captainfarrell · 29/03/2016 09:31

Your names are much nicer, stronger, timeless, classless. You gave birth. He has poor taste. You win. Congratulations Flowers

momb · 29/03/2016 09:38

Not even slightly helpful but have you considered Harvey?
Your little man was born on Easter Sunday and Harvey is a rabbit's name.

GreenLounger · 29/03/2016 09:41

He's seriously never like this, but "now there's someone more important than" me... Which I'm glad he loves his son more, that's what I want! But to start being a dick about his name is pathetic.

DS is getting DH's dad's name in the middle anyway... (He's having 2 middle names, because I have more hope of getting a nice enough name)

OP posts:
GreenLounger · 29/03/2016 09:43

I feel like telling him he can poke it! I'll give him my dad's name in the middle instead (who has actually passed away)

OP posts:
captainfarrell · 29/03/2016 09:46

I think you should give both Dad's names not just one, especially as your dad has passed way. Oh OP why don't you have a serious talk with him, tell him how you feel and that he is spoiling this lovely time. Can you talk to his friends, family to try to get this to see that you are right.....which you are imo.

Whisky2014 · 29/03/2016 09:51

Well if he is saying his son is more important than you that is fine but that also means your son Is more important than him to you so just name him, announce it on FB and be done with it!

Yes, sorry, I should have mentioned it.

He was going to have the name George in there, for his dad (so yes, 2 family names!)

Honestly, George is quite nice, just a bit overused... Which is why I didn't mind, it's better than anything he wants!

My dad was Victor and IMO, isn't as nice as George!

OP posts:
Lweji · 29/03/2016 10:12

So, Daniel Victor George or Daniel George Victor. I prefer the first.
Tell him that's it.

And he can choose the name of the pets.
