Sorry but I think it sounds like a name for a boat. You did ask ?

PilchardPrincess · 27/02/2015 08:47

Maiden makes me think "virgin" rather than iron maiden! I'd think of it as similar to the name Chastity, if I heard it, I think.

Rose is nice :)

YoungBritishPissArtist · 27/02/2015 08:48

I've never heard the name Saylor?

Zorion · 27/02/2015 08:49

I can't help but thing "budding virgin" sorry. It has a pretty sound but the connotations of Maiden/maidenhead and rose together.... are too.. medieval!

Maider (old Basque, pronouced my -dare)?
Miriam?

Sailor is popular? I haven't heard of any. I quite like it but wouldn't be brave enough. Other nautical names could be Ariel (sea sprite not mermaid - unisex), Mar (Spanish for sea?) Marina, Marisa, Marisol along similar veins, Conchetta (little shell), Nautila (I just made that one up..), Blue like Beyonce's daughter? "Maiden Blue" Hobie (company that makes catamarans) Pearl?

Actually I think Maiden would be fine without the Rose which makes it all virtuous. You need something edgier there. And monosyllabic.
Maiden Blue...

Only1scoop · 27/02/2015 08:50

Awful....

Like a boat....

But in a pretty dreadful way.

SunnyBaudelaire · 27/02/2015 08:51

it is dreadful why not just call her 'Virgin'?
and it is Cheyenne not Shyanne

wigglesrock · 27/02/2015 08:52

I don't like Maiden at all - to be honest I think the nickname is more likely certainly in school to be Maid. I don't like the whole maiden name feeling of it either. I know Liv Tyler has called her baby boy Sailor, I don't think it's becoming more popular but it's more celeby, mind you so is Ethel, Arthur etc so I wouldn't let that worry you.

scarletforya · 27/02/2015 08:54

Yeah, it's just another word for virgin/young girl. Doesn't sound edgy, just like a word in the place of a name, sorry.

(And I like Iron Maiden!)

Only1scoop · 27/02/2015 08:54

'Shyanne....name is sky'

I'm a bit confused about name of sibling?

applecatchers36 · 27/02/2015 08:57

Sounds like a euphemism for someone's virginity...

HellKitty · 27/02/2015 09:00

Shyanne? Like Shy Anne? Hmm.
And Maiden Rose is awful, sorry.

OttiliaVonBCup · 27/02/2015 09:02

Sounds like a name of a cleaning company.

Don't do this to your child.

fattymcfatfat · 27/02/2015 09:02

I like iron maiden but would never call my child maiden. its awful

Only1scoop · 27/02/2015 09:03

The maiden aunt

The maiden voyage....

Could be the Maiden mistake of a name I feel

Pengting · 27/02/2015 09:05

Reminds me of sex for some reason. Like maiden is virginity. Just no.

Methe · 27/02/2015 09:05

It does sound like the name of a canal boat to me too, sorry.

Sparklingbrook · 27/02/2015 09:06

Sounds like something you could possibly see at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.

DrSeuss · 27/02/2015 09:07

Rose is lovely.

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 27/02/2015 09:07

I agree, Maiden conjures up images of a medieval virgin in a pointy hat! What about something with a similar sound like Meghan or Morgan?

Sparklingbrook · 27/02/2015 09:09

Isn't it some sort of clothes drying thing too?

TheFairyCaravan · 27/02/2015 09:09

It's awful, as is Saylor.

Celticlass2 · 27/02/2015 09:10

Chavtastic.

Only1scoop · 27/02/2015 09:10

Maiden over ....cricket

maiden rack....clothes airer

Old Maid ....cards

HoppityVoosh · 27/02/2015 09:11

Not to my taste. My first thought was virgin.
