Help me find a boys name...

I am going to be really fussy, dismissive for ridiculous reasons and probably sound like an arse on this thread. But I am really stuck. We've had a girls name set for a few months and I am still happy with it. But the boys name.. we keep going off them.

I need help.

I don't want anything common, in both senses of the word.

Our list thus far has been:
Jackson
Deacon
Brodie
Caleb

And I liked them all at first, and now I hate them. I think they sound chavvy. I have a DS with a top 10 name and thankfully he goes by a lesser used NN anyway, but still, I don't want to repeat that. He's one of 4 in his year.

HELP!

Ned is awful.

Llewelyn is a hideous suggestion for a child's name!

Keir is not to my taste personally, I find it a bit Chavvy.

Coll

Cairn

Juno77 · 19/01/2014 22:55

Ossian sounds invented.

Scottish names are way too popular around here. Not keen.

Strachan?
Bruin?

Theonlyoneiknow · 19/01/2014 23:13

Ok, so if you have looked at every name registered I'm stuck! Smile

I found girls names really easy, boys names were very very hard!

I used to watch the television credits for ideas

I think you should have a look at Australian or American name registers. Your preference seems to be along those lines. Good luck!

The only one I like there is Clayton.

Dwight. Jesus.

How about getting a map and looking at place names?

Juno77 · 20/01/2014 11:25

Place names? I don't know about that... such as? I don't think i've ever liked a name that was a place name.

We did the pin in a map thing and almost called our 2nd son Cairn as that is what we kept on hitting. I know a Merrick named after the hill.
