Help me find a boys name...

I am going to be really fussy, dismissive for ridiculous reasons and probably sound like an arse on this thread. But I am really stuck. We've had a girls name set for a few months and I am still happy with it. But the boys name.. we keep going off them.

I need help.

I don't want anything common, in both senses of the word.

Our list thus far has been:
Jackson
Deacon
Brodie
Caleb

And I liked them all at first, and now I hate them. I think they sound chavvy. I have a DS with a top 10 name and thankfully he goes by a lesser used NN anyway, but still, I don't want to repeat that. He's one of 4 in his year.

HELP!

Juno, apologies if this has already been suggested (I kind of lost the will around 250 posts) but if you like Jackson have you considered Nolan? In my head anyway they have a similar feel to them. (And I was keen on Nolan for our DC but DH was having none of it, and we had girls anyway!)

Maxton

mummytobejuly2014 · 23/01/2014 18:48

seen on another thread Cedric. strong and simple? also like Ethan ir Nathan

ToffeeJungle · 23/01/2014 19:06

I also love Nathan - strong and masculine, easy to read / say / spell, and not overly popular but not unheard of.

I think these have already been mentioned (most names have!) but what do you think of:
Cormac
Cillian
Ciaran
Christian
Rowan
Ryan
Dylan
Clayton
Clinton
Cole

I am actually laughing in bed because as soon as I saw Kelavie I knew OP would like it!!!
As someone up thread has said OP you seem to love the names that have the connotations that you are desperately trying to avoid.

Squiffyagain · 25/01/2014 07:05

Jacob
Hugo
Storm
Jasper
Ludo

Kind of names that bring to mind strong blokes with wild hair sweeping women off their feet.

ThisIsYourSong · 25/01/2014 07:48

Vaughan?

I've got a Lawrence. We almost didn't use it because of the Lawrie (lorry) nickname but it really suited him when he was born. We just call him Lawrence. Its not like Lawrie is any shorter to say, both two syllables.

ThisIsYourSong · 25/01/2014 07:55

or Bede?

Spottybra · 25/01/2014 08:04

My list includes;
Rory
Fraser
Cavan
Aser
Flynn

Also Haydn is a lovely name but I'm biased.

Juno77 · 25/01/2014 09:34

So after some thinking I have decided that I don't give a fuck whether or not the name sounds 'chavvy'.

The child won't be Chavvy, so it is kind of an irrelevant point.

So, I'm kind of back to square one with actually just picking a name I like, with complete disregard for other people's opinions Grin

notso · 25/01/2014 09:57

So what are you going to go with, Boden? Grin

Glad you have had this epiphany!

ComposHat · 25/01/2014 10:02

18 pages later and we are at square one. The op still doesn't have a name and her attitude still stinks.

LanaStraightLeg · 25/01/2014 10:09

Ha ha! You're right though. I googled Eton schoolboys for you so I could supply only the poshest of names and plenty of those sound er different depending on the accent/supermarket they're being yelled in.

Juno77 · 25/01/2014 10:24

compo go and relax won't you. Jesus. Why are you so angry?!

OP posts:
Juno77 · 25/01/2014 10:25
