I'm 6 weeks pregnant with DC2. Just playing around with names

If baby is a boy he will most likely be Frank after my granda.

A girl is more difficult! DD is Cassie and we love her name. Not on the dreaded top 40 list but wacky not wacky either.

I like straightforward, pretty but non-flowery names with a retro feel.

I love Betty (and Betsy) but stupidly named the dog that not anticipating any more babies!

What do we think of my current favourite, Cherry? Not to everyone's taste I know but I'm in love with it right now .

I also like Dulcie, Violet, Maggie (my father would disown me for Thatcher) and Ivy and I like Dahlia but DP doesn't.

Any ideas?

In fact I am putting Marnie on a 'if we have DC4' baby name list.

I'm obviously not v good at working out what genre a name is! I really like marnie, though. I also love Lana, I considered it for dc2 but dh vetoed it as it spells anal backwards he always bloody notices things like that.

I have a great aunt Effie.

Dogs don't recognise their names, they recognise the tone of your voice when you call them. If you called her Ketchup in the same tone she'd look up.

Frank and Dolly do sound fab.

I'd have to have another DC after this pregnancy to make that dream happen. Not sure I can handle it .

Effie is ok. Makes me think of Effie Trinket.
