Baby names

Help me find a retro-ish name!

Not Jean Grin

I'm 6 weeks pregnant with DC2. Just playing around with names Smile

If baby is a boy he will most likely be Frank after my granda.

A girl is more difficult! DD is Cassie and we love her name. Not on the dreaded top 40 list but wacky not wacky either.

I like straightforward, pretty but non-flowery names with a retro feel.

I love Betty (and Betsy) but stupidly named the dog that not anticipating any more babies!

What do we think of my current favourite, Cherry? Not to everyone's taste I know but I'm in love with it right now Grin.

I also like Dulcie, Violet, Maggie (my father would disown me for Thatcher) and Ivy and I like Dahlia but DP doesn't.

Any ideas?

Oh, I've just re-read your OP and see that you are very newly pregnant!

Congratulations Flowers

And welcome aboard to little Dulcie/Dolly/Frank Grin

I love Marnie on your list. Wish I'd used it for dd.

Good luck! It's bound to be a boy after all this time and effort Wink

Please, please, please give her a full name as well. No adult woman wants to be called Dolly or Bunny,

Dolly was traditionally a pet name for Dorothy, by they way.

No curlew I won't be giving her a long name. Like I didn't with DD1.

Thanks though.

Queenie is a pet name for Victoria. Could be Elizabeth too.

I love Cherry!

So many names mentioned already that I now want.

The only input I have is Birdie. Not sure what it's short for though? Our girl is due in January and we decided on Sylvie Beatrix months ago but now I want to call her Birdie Hmm

Busy Phillips has a wee girl called Birdie. And one called Cricket. A step too far!

Sorry, whatcomemulled??

A flower as a girls name?? How shocking.

Someone better tell all parents of girls called Rose, Daisy, Poppy, Lily and the numerous other flower names.

Hmm.
