Not coming up with names with agree on, and Persephone is a hard name to top!

So far we've got Serafina (altho not liking the nn of Sera/Sarah) and Anastasia.

Any other suggestions welcome

Glad someone pointed out out you pronounce Persephone, its so pretty and much nicer than the way I was reading it in my head lol - gorgeous choice OP.

Out of all the suggestions I like Seraphina best, they go lovely together.

Oh heck, I knew that, it must be summer holiday brain!
I am so mortified that I have to name change or go and hide under a stone somewhere. Blush

Persephone and Augusta

katydid02 - I have terrible memory apart from recalling very useless facts. Left the back door wide open the other night and then did it again last night!

burberryqueen · 12/08/2013 13:38

Demeter
Antigone
Artemis

EldritchCleavage · 12/08/2013 13:45

I love Hera, but DH vetoed it. I love Thea too.

However, I'm not keen on 'themed' names. Any name ill do, as long as there are no unfortunate connotations when said with the sibling's name.

What about:
Helen
Dinah
Noa (girl's version, though not generally used outside Israel I think)
Caroline
Celia
Daphne

(Can you tell I generally like short names?)

personally, I wouldn't go for Demeter - it's been a while since I read my Greek myths, but wasn't she Persephone's mother? Seems a bit odd to have mother-and-daughter sibling names.

Please go for Seraphina/Serafina - Serafina Pekkala rocks!

Everlong If I had know that DD would be born in October then she would have been Octavia. She was due in September and we had already picked her names.

thesaurusgirl · 12/08/2013 14:55

Please tell me you called her Septima, Exit? I LOVE that name!

ExitPursuedByABear · 12/08/2013 15:02

Noooo. She has a dull first name and an interesting middle name. I just liked Octavia but understood it was always intended for the 8th child Confused

I also once read a book where the main character was called October and I thought it was the coolest of cool thing (I was about 9) and would really have liked to call DD that but didn't feel I could get away with it in the desolate and culturally deserted North West Wink

Heavens! It's like a Debs coming out ball on this thread. Grin

thesaurusgirl · 12/08/2013 15:10

I'll have you I acquired my classical education in that desolate cultural desert, Exit Hmm. Grin.

I have a classical first name (think Macedonian conqueror and English princess) but wish the parents had gone for something a bit more unusual. I've always fancied Jocasta or Ismene but can understand the objections!)

ExitPursuedByABear · 12/08/2013 15:11

Vivienne is underused.

OliviaMMumsnet · 12/08/2013 19:04

Hello
We're a bit late coming to this but would remind you all that while names are OBVIOUSLY subjective (mine has been listed here Grin) this is not fight club.
