Not coming up with names with agree on, and Persephone is a hard name to top!

So far we've got Serafina (altho not liking the nn of Sera/Sarah) and Anastasia.

Any other suggestions welcome

Ok. Whatever. But you're massively overreacting. It's not 'venom'. It's stupid people being stupid. They're everywhere.

You need to report your thread and ask MNHQ to delete it. I'm not sure they just delete every thread they're asked to, especially where there aren't personal attacks or anything, but you can ask.

TobyLerone · 14/08/2013 11:21

Sorry? Where have I been rude? I said it was a lovely name and one we were considering!

SmallOrangeGiraffe · 14/08/2013 11:23

To be fair, Peresphone is a stupid name.

Actually OP, I think Toby was making a bit of fun of another poster (nurseneedshelp) when she said "peresphone" is a stupid name.. Because the other poster spelt it wrong and Toby was making light of that!!!!

Somethingyesterday · 14/08/2013 11:26

OP Look carefully at what Toby actually wrote. She was mocking the wrong spelling of another poster. Not your Dd's actual name. I had to read it twice myself Smile

TobyLerone · 14/08/2013 11:26

Calm down. Read it again.

I was taking the piss out of the person who spelt the name wrong (nurse whatever -- can't be arsed to go back a page.)

Perhaps being slightly irrationally ragey made you miss the deliberate misspelling. Or temporarily stole your sense of humour. It happens.

How ironic that I am the only one who is having actual personal attacks thrown their way :o

SmallOrangeGiraffe · 14/08/2013 11:26

Ok well if thats the case I've obv. missed it and I apologies to Toby

OP posts:
gillywillywoo · 14/08/2013 11:27

Exactly OP. I think you need to read the posts before you have a go at Toby.

Nurseneedshelp misspelt Persephone as "peresphone" and Toby was saying "yes, PERESPHONE IS stupid".

TobyLerone · 14/08/2013 11:27

X-posted. Thanks :)

Choccyhobnob · 14/08/2013 11:27

I'm totally late to this but I can't stop thinking H names for some reason!

Hero
Helena
Hermione
Honour

Would all be beautiful with Persephone Smile

gillywillywoo · 14/08/2013 11:28

Ps HELLO TOBY!!! Smile
Hope you're well. See how I came to your rescue? LOL.

TobyLerone · 14/08/2013 11:29

Petrova is lovely from ballet shoes

EldritchCleavage · 14/08/2013 12:28

Oh, ignore the wind-up faction, OP, best way to annoy them.

What about:

Dahlia
Berenice
Araminta
Jacinta

NationMcKinley · 14/08/2013 13:21

I know it's not 4 syllables, but how about Dido? Please come back and let us know what names you like!

ExitPursuedByABear · 14/08/2013 14:03

I love Helena. So elegant.

I had missed Toby's irony as well.

thesaurusgirl · 14/08/2013 14:18

I've thought of another few, some not quite on your deity theme, but still from the Latin/Greek/Sanskrit/Arabic:

Auriole

Caecilia

Andromeda

Suriya (or Soraya)

Arjuna

Krishana

thesaurusgirl · 14/08/2013 14:21

And to digress slightly, I'm amazed that there is a Mumsnet poster called Aufaniaie (sp?)

In which case, I also offer Nehellenia and Germania.

thesaurusgirl · 14/08/2013 14:38

Some more that popped into my head (I need to get a life):

Raphaella

Thomasina

Aphra

Sarita

Leonora

Serena

Lavinia

Juliana

Theodora

Zuleika

Jacinta

Artemisia (TWO feminist icons in one name)

Christobel

I think that because you've used the (gorgeous) nickname Sephie for your DD that Serafina is probably not useable this time. Instead, how about -

Saskia
Maya
Louisa
Thea
Katerina
Delilah/Lilah
Christina
Alyssa
Marina
Mireille
Alexa
Cassia
Serena
Thalia
Juliet
Naomi
