Wolf, Remus, Octavius and now Cosmo?

We are a bit stuck.

We did have a name but it's shortened version has put my right off.

The boy is due in 6 weeks and he is in danger of being a number. We both liked Remus but it just isn't a name i love. We like Wolf and tbh it is on the cards BUT we tend to have red headed childrena dn i just can't see a red head Wolf.

Octavius will be in there somewhere as he is dc8.

Cosmo is winning atm. What do you think?

LOVE cosmo, going to be next boy's middle name.

Guthrie
Geronimo
Ivor
Nile
Orion
Puck
Rusty
Ruari
Fabian
Tierney
Zeus
Elliot
Tenzing
Viktor
Vincent
Waldo
Frazer
Sonny

What about any of those?

NorfolkNCovern · 23/10/2011 08:49

What about Ranulph?

belgo · 23/10/2011 10:14

or Rudolph, Rudy for short?[hgrin]

largeginandtonic · 24/10/2011 08:14

Dh is a definate no to Horatio, too piss take worthy in his job Sad He also say's no to Rudy and Rudolph. Damn it.

I like Fabian and Sonny on that list but again dh say's nope. A mate i have with 5 boys has always asked for a Fabian too and her dh always say's nope. Gah! You would think between us with 11 boys ONE of us would have managed it!

I still like Cosmo and Wolf. I don't like the shortned versions of Octavius so no to that as a first name BUT it will definately be a middle.

Arf at the dog not lasting forever... he is not even 1 yet! He will be here long enough for it to matter so that rules out Rufus. Shame we didn't really think it through when we named him. It's just i had liked Rupert for years and dh always said no so when he relented when we got the woofa i jumped at it Grin

You are all brilliant. Thank you.

I have the names down. Let's see what he looks like. Only another 5 weeks or so to wait unless i can convince him otherwise < heaves HUGE self out of couch >

Thurston or Thorsten? (Thor Heyerdahl)

Nansen? (explorer)

Arthur- almost ordinary but very British and traditional and lovely.

CaptainNancy · 25/10/2011 10:26

Rollo

King Rollo Grin

What about-
Galahad
Bodhi
Idris
Phineas
Gideon

CaptainNancy · 25/10/2011 11:08

King Rollo is lovely- and no child will know it now! Smile

Dont think LGAT can use Phineas- her DD is known as Phin.

largeginandtonic · 25/10/2011 11:09

Rollo is rather cool. It does remind me of the round kid in Grange Hill < shows age > and the poodle in Eastenders though Grin

Lockets i have had all those names on a list, dh liked Lysander for a while.

Gideon is good but Giddy?

Arthur is on the list, was my Grandad's name (long dead) but my sister had claimed it for her future baby. She has since changed her mind though.

CaptainNancy i admire your dedication to the cause. As soon as he is out (if we manage to name him) i wil seek you out Grin

Arf@ the Once and Future Baby!

largeginandtonic · 25/10/2011 11:27

Oh don't ask Cap'n. She wasn't even pregnant and she has the names figured out. This was a couple of years ago now. She is actually pregnant now and has changed her mind.

She is on here somewhere... her name is drink related too. No idea what that says about our family.

I love all your names G&T, always have. I'm sure whatever you choose it will be perfect!

Have added Cosmo to my fantasy list.

largeginandtonic · 25/10/2011 13:35

Aww thanks Overmydeadbody. That is a lovely thing to say.

Am feeling huge and uncomfortable today and that has cheered me right up. Ta.

i like Cosmo, we nearly called dd cosima :) she is a merryn :)

we have a Rudi! i love rudi, he was almost a rufus.

what about Arlo, my Rudi is Rudi Arlo :)

unhappysqueezer · 25/10/2011 13:53

I love all your names too! The difference is my husband is quite conservative regarding his name choices- I think he gets it from his family.
They don't like the name Hugo, not traditional enough apparently.

largeginandtonic · 25/10/2011 15:16

Crazy squeezer, Hugo is an old name. How can they say that?! Keep on at him for your favourites, you never know! I think i held out 6 weeks with one baby Grin On the way to the register office we were still discussing it.

All fabulous names 4madboys. Merryn was on the list for dd2. It is a gorgeous name.

I think the only way i would get a Rudy is using Rudyard. Dh loves this. Never say never.

Arlo is a cool name too, have a mate with one Smile

Hey Lg&T (dizzydixies here) how lovely you are due again, how on earth did I miss this?!?!?

Loving all the suggestions so no help from this side! Can I throw in Roan as a contender too? Perfect if another wee Red Head.

Hope you are keeping well x

BibiBelle · 25/10/2011 15:23

Or Clyde?? I tried to persuade Lockets to use it but the selfish wench went with something else GrinWink

or Linden

BibiBelle · 25/10/2011 15:26

or Herb/Herbie/Herbert - I heart Herb

largeginandtonic · 25/10/2011 15:28

Dizzy! Roan like Rowan? I do like it but dh prefers Rohan. I dunno. Am on name saturation Grin

Lockets how mean of you not to use Dizzy's name choice Grin Clyde is cute. I like Claude but dh is having none of it.

Dizzy you will just have to have another!

Am not allowed after last year Sad It would have been Gabriel's first birthday on Sunday just past.

Or I would be sat on the couch equally as big discussing baby names with you!

Rowan up here is pn Row (as in argument) Ann
Roan would be more like Row (as in your boat) nnn, similar sounging to groan/moan - does that make sense?? lol

BibiBelle · 25/10/2011 15:32

Oh my god, Herbert and bunty are BRILLIANT!!! I just LOVE the name Herb Smile
