New Year & a New thread - post what you hope to start/finish this week!

I have bought lots of fabby gemstones & I want to try & make some different types of jewellery, different ways of stringing etc.

DH also bought me some rainbow fluorite & I want to make myself a necklace & bracelet, although am still pondering what style I fancy!

(& my bog is sadly neglected, I must try harder!)

have managed to list 3 more bracelets on etsy and goign to work on some knitting now before ds and dh get home in a little bit.

i started thiscraft circle thread about having a crafting get together like we talked about.

hey, calling all softie makers, have a look at this (you need to play the youtube thing to see the demo).

That plushie clip looks good, but how can you get it? I tried downloading the demo, but nothing much seems to happen, just more instructions.

I maybe shouldn't let on... but it's actually pretty easy and pretty quick. Not as quick as bead stringing, but MUCH quicker and easier than bead weaving. Basically, you just open and close a load of jump rings in a certain order. I bought it as a kit from www.maillequeen.co.uk.

Now, just got my latest issue of 'bead' in the post, wonder what I'll do next?

OK, last thing before I try my hand at something different.

Any suggestions ? I want to make something more growd up. On my list so far is ..

a) door stop or draught excluder
b) tote bag

I'm off to peruse some mags and design books for inspiration.

Targets :-
I bought some key ring things to t
Make some bigger stitch markers for Miaou
Decide if I am going to say 'yes' to a craft fair I got an invite to (went last year - badly advertised - dark damp church hall - large biddy crowd - un-controlled kids knocked over my display board, no one said sorry)
Try some seed beady things I've seen in a Bead mag

if I don't do any of these, someone please kick me

Hi Whizz, I've been a bit aloof lately too - just sooo busy.

If you are interested in a draught excluder, wait until I've made one up (hopefully by the end of this weekend , and if you'd like me to make one for you just let me know.

My friend wants me to make one for her office window as she say's a right ole' hooley blows through it.

tilly, what about pin cushions, or needle books. you could try a whole needlecraft set, large pin cushion, a mini one on a wrist band etc.

tote bags are always good, draw string laundry bags, ipod/phone cases?

LK - Thanks for the suggestions. I trawled though some books last night and got a few bits of inspiration but need to look through my stash of fabrics now to see what's suitable.

I think today, I shall be mostly making 'draught excluders' ....

Although, we have to hunt for curtain poles and paint today, ugh what a drag ...
So, how much I get done depends on how quickly we can find what we want.

tilly- i like your latest creation... I think the tote bags are a good idea, you can never have too many bags, even shopping bags I look forward to seeing your next creation.

Ok, its official, I am doing a craft stall on the 9th April
My friend is going to help me out plus her sister sells sizzix card things but she lives down south so shes going to send some up for us to sell.

So now I really need to get my bum into gear!

Tilly, a vote for a bag too. You can never have enough bags IMO

I may just need cards in a bit right now i just want some little lable ones.. you know what I mean.. or some buisness cards or something... have a terrible headache today and can't really think, plus DS is running around generating chaos so i don't think I will get much craft/organizing done till monday...

meri, have you thought about getting some moo cards printed, they are about the cheapest place for business cards etc

i got a pack of the mini ones done just before christmas, only took about 5 days after placing the order

Can you still get some free business cards from Vistaprint? I never got around to it, always saying I would wait until I have a website...and I am still waiting! LOL

you can still get free ones from vista, but, as always there is a catch, postage is expensive, so much that it kind of wipes out the whole 'free' part about it. cheapest postage is about £3, but you'd have to wait over 3 weeks, any quicker and your looking at between £8-£14

they do look ok quality wise though, but for the 'free' ones you have to go with a ready made template rather than personalise it with your own design/images

then work on my list

make a boys 13th birthday card! DONE
make a 19th Birthday card DONE
make a birthday card for BIL
make x1 Feb Birthday club card
make DH valentine's card DONE
make a girls 11th birthday card
make SIL birthday card

So, this week (considering I may be doing my first craft market on Saturday!!!)

make 10 cards for stock
possibly make some little extras for craft table!!
make a birthday card for BIL
make x1 Feb Birthday club card
make a girls 11th birthday card
make SIL birthday card

No rest for the wicked!
