Hey, @CrochetBug - it's looking a bit bare in here . Do you have any Halloweeny-coloured yarn to scatter around?

I see you're continuing to ace the thread title game lazy 😄

I'm having a morning off from anything productive and instead spent it dossing around and colour matching baby Yoda. I feel this was a worthwhile use of my time Grin

Thanks Flavia Grin - it takes me an embarrassing amount of time to choose one! What I'm not acing is getting anything actually useful done today. My (extremely efficient, houseproud) friend is popping round at 1.30, my house is a mess and I haven't walked the dog yet or had a shower .

Does this mean I’ve finally got my letter to Hogwarts?

About bloody time, it’s only been 21 years!

flavia one of my WIPs is yoda and I’ve got the Rico creative cotton aran in pistachio which I think is a pretty good match (depending on what you’re doing obviously). Although I don’t have an actual baby yoda doll to colour match to! Which reminds me, it’s pay day today and I need some yarn to finish yoda and Leia off. I only need a couple of balls, so then comes the decision of buying extra yarn to avoid paying for postage Grin

lazylinguist · 18/10/2021 11:44

Does this mean I’ve finally got my letter to Hogwarts?

Yes. All students will need:

Needles/hooks (size: various)
Yarn aplenty
More yarn
A long list of future projects
Multiple unfinished WIPs
53 Wool Warehouse gauze bags
Pattern books (various) - these will sit ignored on shelves while you download other new patterns
More yarn
Pet animal (optional)

Woohoo, I have all of that lazy Grin I've got one of those friends, despite 2 kids her house always looks like it's a show home, it's as well she's otherwise nice really Grin

InTheNight I'm going to convert this pattern into a jumper for DS www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/mando-2 though I'm going to simplify the chart a fair bit! Oh, I'd like to see those!

lucysmam · 18/10/2021 17:21

Bugger, I don't have the required 53 WW organza bags on the kit list yet

I've got 79 rows of scarf left to do, & just tried it on. I'm glad I didn't frog the red rows I thought were going to make it too long - it should be about perfect length I think based on the girls' dad being about 4" taller than me. Hoping to get another letter done tomorrow, depending what the girls want to do 🤔

CrochetBug · 18/10/2021 17:26

Absolutely love the new title!
I have all of those things. (And a Hogwarts acceptance letter Wink)

I do indeed have some Halloween Yarn to decorate with.

NiceCardigan · 18/10/2021 17:55

Great thread title and hopefully Crochetbug will decorate for us.

I’ve made a start on my new sweater - the yarn is lovely and soft!

Love the new thread title!
Oooh @NiceCardigan that jumper is amazing!! It does look soft!

FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 18/10/2021 19:10

Oh gosh that's lovely NiceCardigan! What yarn are you using? I love the two colour ribbing, that's a nice touch.

NiceCardigan · 18/10/2021 19:17

The yarn is King Cole Homespun DK and it has tweedy bits in it.

FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 18/10/2021 19:31

Thanks, it looks lovely!

MerylSqueak · 18/10/2021 20:42

Lovely@NiceCardigan. Very autumnal.

Fab new thread title.

COVID seems to have finally descended on us. DD had two positive lateral flow tests and I have exactly the same symptoms, although testing negative. Pcrs done this morning.

Contemplating single brioche stitch for my green scarf. Never done it before. Very Pink Knits video suggests a method that seems far simpler than others I have seen (which involve picking up a stitch from the row below). What methods have other people used.

And talking of lovely jumpers, no news of folding lately @lazylinguist. Too busy working?

lazylinguist · 18/10/2021 21:26

Gorgeous jumper, @NiceCardigan!
Yes, very busy atm Meryl - I seem to be running to catch up with myself!
Glad people like the thread title Grin

This evening I've added another thing to my list of stuff I want to make immediately - some fingerless glove wrist-warmery thingies. I was just at choir and they have to keep the hall well-ventilated, aka bloody freezing. My hands get coldest, but I need to be able to turn music pages!

OP posts:
lucysmam · 18/10/2021 21:34

Oh, that is lovely NiceCardigan.

lazy I love fingerless glove/wristwarmer thingys! They're so much easier than full on gloves on and off all the time.

I've just finished dd2's ghost...and now she's requested some ghost bunting 👻🙄 Have any of you come across any really quick patterns for ghosts/pumpkins? I'll be scrolling Pinterest I think to find something to make tomorrow

Anyone want to own up to wearing a sweatshirt saying knitter on it?

tizwozliz · 18/10/2021 23:08

I made pumpkins using this pattern last year. Really quick and easy

Oh no Meryl hope you're all doing ok Brew I've done brioche doing the method where you have a stitch and then a stitch and a yarn over together then another stitch, I enjoyed it, it was quite mediative after a while. I found a video I watched and knit along with untill it clicked for me

Lol tiztwoliz Grin

lazylinguist · 19/10/2021 10:29

Sorry Meryl - I somehow missed your Covid-related woes! Hope you're not feeling too bad.

CrochetBug · 19/10/2021 10:31

lucysmam · 19/10/2021 18:16
