I don't know what's going on but this is the third post I've tried. If this fails I'm going to give up.

Anyway, I can't seem to find the old thread for some reason, my laptop is doing funny things so maybe it's at my end?

Anyway, I cannot see what you all have achieved so far this week but here is my blog with what I have done or you can have a peep in my profile but the pictures are quite diddy

thanks Dior, there are some alphabet stamps for a bargain £5.50 - just what I need!!!! Now I need some fabric ink (and not from panduro that charges about a million quid for postage ) Does anyone know where I can get that cheap and without huge postage costs? (for my owl garland and cushion)

Well, the fent shop in macclesfield is amazing! I got loads of fab stuff (will take pics and blog tomorrow if the light is ok), and I spent £37 - although I could have gone completely overboard. If anyone lives nearish to there, go - it was well worth the trip. They had liberty tana lawns for under a fiver a metre, I think I paid about £3 for one of them. And loads of cord, and velvet and all sorts of gorgeous stuff. Rowan from clang clang is making DD a doll for christmas, so I will have to go back to pick it up (because you can't rely on royal mail, can you? ). I think I need more stuff!!!!
And then, when I got home, some mini boden fabric I'd got from ebay was here - with some brown and pink spotty cord scraps (more like treasure to me!) that the lady 'found' and wondered if I could do anything with them, ummm, let me think.....oh, yes, I'm sure I can!!!!
I have just had the best day ever!

Whizzz · 14/11/2007 19:18

have a go at crochet but need a hook - nope!
make a charm bracelet for a MNer but I'm just waiting for crystals - accepted that they got lost in the post (Grr), contacted the supplier again who kindly agreed to send out another order - hopefully they will arrive tomorrow
approach DSs school re a stall at the Xmas Fair in Dec - done- I have a stall Dec 1st!
Also I have a necklace kit for a seed beady necklace that I want to start - not done

BUT I have sat down & made some memory wire bangles to appeal to the pocket money end of the school fayre ! Will take a pic when I've done a few more.

Whizzz · 14/11/2007 19:19

ooo and I am going to a bead fair on Sunday - YIPEE.....(but I must not come home with loads of beady stash!)

GreebosWhiskers · 14/11/2007 23:21

Gingermonkey · 15/11/2007 18:31

Ok, from last week (that rolled over to this week too)
:: 3 x pink horses Done
:: Finish baby vests Done
:: possibly do 7 dinos - haven't got to do the 5 for an order until after christmas, have finished the other 2
:: also made an owl garland and started a cushion that wasn't on the list

now my new list is;

:: 2 x dinos
:: a couple of horses in different fabrics
:: more lavender mice in bags
:: start another cushion
:: buy some alphabet stamps and fabric ink pad

Whizzz · 15/11/2007 18:36

I have put a pic of the bracelets on my blog - they are nothing exciting really - just basic stuff. I wouldn't mind a MN opinion of how much to ask for them at the school fayre.

I have (and this is the Gods' honest truth);

3 hairbands
5 corsages
3 belts
Penny the doll
A crocheted cotton & wooden bead bracelet that I made this morning
2 xmas tree baubles

[pause as tumbleweed blows across the screen]

I'm writing a list as we speak (in between nouthfuls of cheese toastie - I still have to eat)

Any suggestions for quick gifty things I can crochet would be muchly appreciated.

GreebosWhiskers · 16/11/2007 13:33

Bloody mumsnet - I switched the pc on to order beads from ebay & was logged in here before I even realised what I was doing.

I'm off again now . . .

Gingermonkey · 16/11/2007 13:44

lip balm holders. My friend knitted me one, it was on a split ring (you know the round bit on a key ring). I'll find one to link to.

Gingermonkey · 16/11/2007 13:52

here I know it's knitted, but it would a quicky to do, wouldn't it? (she says, being totally ignorant of knitting)

Those bags you did for halloween were fab, could you do something like that? Maybe a cupcake one? Girls are a sucker for cupcakes (as am I!)

Ooooh, also - my headbands came today - they are gorgeous (I had to try them both out on myself, and was most impressed!). Thank you for the other little bits too, the flower will find a new home on a toy very soon, and the bauble is lovely. I'd buy it! I also thought, why not put a bit of festive type ribbon (gingham is always good), and maybe a jingle bell. My pin cushion which is really a christmas decoration has a jingle bell and I am rather fond of it! this one.

GreebosWhiskers · 16/11/2007 14:38

What a fab idea GM - I've just ordered some keychains off ebay & amm off to hunt through my wool stash

I'm glad you liked the hairbands - I made them about 17" each as they stretch a little so they should fit your dd (and you lol). You're right - the baubles would be good with bells & ribbon. Back off to ebay methinks . . .

Gingermonkey · 16/11/2007 17:58

glad to be of assistance!

Well I have finished the charm bracelet AND finally made something with the beautiful ocean jasper beads I got a while back. I was so amazed that I'd managed to actually do something - I started another thread, just for them! 3 bracelets - one of which I am wearing as I type !!

Dingle · 17/11/2007 09:12

Oh goodness ladies, you are all putting me to shame. I've not been around much at all this week. Had a few appointments at the hospital with DD and a meeting at work on a day I don't usually work and to be honest my week has been a complete shambles! I have done loads of knitting in between though!

Got a few little card orders to make and I took the plunge and took 10 cards into the school as a sample and to see if there was any interest to aid fundraising. The school left a message on the answer machine yesterday and have ask me to go in and discuss details as there was quite a bit of interest! I HATE trying to promote myself and have no confidence at all. Haven't a clue what to do now and how to work it!"

Good work everyone!

Meridian · 17/11/2007 11:20

dingle- good luck with your cards at school! I must admid i'm painfully intraverted and lacking in self confidence too... and extremely crap at self promotion/belief... I hope things go well for you though as the world would grind to a halt if people like me were left to sort things out

I have done nothing, nada, zip, stuff all since getting back from the states on tuesday. I hope to finish the scarf I started knitting, and start to work making some wristlets/wristwarmers as an x-mas gift. ANd hopefully drag paints and canvas out, problem is I never know what to do with my paintings when I have finished them and although not really stacked up there are a few hanging around the house with nowhere to go and I don't know what to do with them. too chickenshit to try to sell them, as afraid they arent good enough. oh well.

oh and I want to design a t-shirt for my dad for x-mas, not sure what though and then get it scanned and printed.
