A few of us fancy doing a few squares for this, so here's a thread!

As blankets need to be 4x6 squares (24 total), the idea is that we arrange ourselves into small groups by geography and do a few each, then meet to put them together and eat cake

I'll link the previous Location thread shortly so folk can add themselves and get organising Thanks

That's 28 squares though... 24 for a blanket so we'd need 20 extras to get 2 blankets. I can make extra but possibly not 20 :)

Team Hooker - colours tbc

I've defected onto Team Knitter. My attempts at crochet are shameful. Lime and cream are probably the only colours I didn't order. I go and order more in a min. My Deramore order has just arrived but the colours are pinks and purples for the little hug projects.

Any particular shades of lime or cream needed?

HairyPotter · 18/09/2012 13:32

Ignore that, just noticed the colours recommended Blush Trib can you pm the details to me. I an very dim and still pretty rubbish so I would need you to speak slooooowly. Grin

Am I doing 4 squares with a garter border?

tribpot · 18/09/2012 13:36

Hairy - I think we will end up doing 2 blankets, so you may not want to order, but our colours are Paton's Smoothie DK in Lime (1010) and Cream (1019). However, this blanket will not be getting under way for several weeks as we wait for the yarn to make its way to Shredded. I also have some quite specific ideas for it, so I'm happy to ensure we have two teams working alongside each other. I'll start a thread specifically for Team Knitter.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 18/09/2012 13:45

Team Hooker - Can I go ahead and order stylecraft in girly colours assuming it is going to be a minimum of 7 sqs? And will I post to you Soupy?

droitwich - just to be clear, you're wanting to do a teddy rather than a blanket square or two? That is perfectly fine.

aJumpedUpPantryBoy · 18/09/2012 17:05

I shall go for pinks and cream in Team Hooker, can someone clarify the size please, I have 6" in my head but I could be wrong

SoupDragon · 18/09/2012 17:23

I've searched the link in the OP and, eventually, found out that the sqares are indeed 6".

they seem to be after two sizes of blanket... the 24 square is a cot blanket and they also want 48 square child blankets.

droitwichmummy · 18/09/2012 17:40

Trib I will start with a bear and see how the time goes. If I have time left and we need them I may then do a square (or 2!)

aJumpedUpPantryBoy · 18/09/2012 17:48

Thanks Soupy - what size hook is everyone planning on using?

SoupDragon · 18/09/2012 17:49

4mm, because that's all i ever use!

tinierclanger · 18/09/2012 17:53

Am already a bit muddled about the Knit Project. Should I order yarn and start knitting or are there more instructions to follow?
Sorry!

aJumpedUpPantryBoy · 18/09/2012 18:02

4mm is good for me not that I have a huge collection of hooks in nearly every size, oh no not me

PurplePidjin · 18/09/2012 18:09

Get it and get started but no rush because the yarn still has to get to Shredded in the States :)
