refuge.org.uk/2012/06/13/knit-for-refuge-campaign-gets-underway/

A few of us fancy doing a few squares for this, so here's a thread!

As blankets need to be 4x6 squares (24 total), the idea is that we arrange ourselves into small groups by geography and do a few each, then meet to put them together and eat cake

I'll link the previous Location thread shortly so folk can add themselves and get organising Thanks

Bugger, it's a lovely colour too! and i can't afford to buy wool specially maybe i should use it for a Little Hug, then?

I've also got an Imperial Shitload of Robin Bonny Babe in cream, which is bog standard 100% acrylic dk, is that any good?

Well your blanket doesn't need to be all in one colour, does it? I'm sure of the other Snuggly DK pinks/purples would go nicely with it.

Deramores order for Patons Smoothie: Done

I didn't order some more woolly hugs yarn to get free postage, no siree

Ready for me to pester you for pattern adaptations to fit required sizing, Trib? Grin

Actually Barbara Shredded and I have been discussing the possibility of throwing convention to the wind and doing double-sized squares. You should be able to fit the roof of the Sistine Chapel in 30cmx30cm Wink

Well, it's only an idea for now, but I'd quite like not to have to be constantly adapting patterns!

And you'd only need 6 squares in total :o

Can I play? I've ordered a few balls of cheapo stylecraft for the little hugs project, but I'd like to fling a few squares this way too.

Whose team can I be on?

Can I use the wool I've ordered?

Hairy - at the mo, Stylecraft is the yarn of choice of the hookers, although Pidj is also proposing the Sirdar Snuggly DK.

At the moment, the knitters are favouring Patons Smoothie, but fear not if your preference is to knit.

I'm trying to teach myself to crochet, however it's not going well Blush
I might go and have a look at the patons woolliness. You can never have too much yarn can you Smile

I haven't actually ordered anything yet so can go for sirdar snuggly if that's preferred. I think any pinks and purples would all blend together nicely.

I like the sound of double sized squares Trib and Shredded.

Hairy, I agree with you. My DH does not Hmm Grin

Winchester meet up if you're nearby and need a hand, Hairy. And maybe someone could bung me a bit of spare Stylecraft?

I think I'm going to order the attic24 style craft colour pack and then I've got plenty of blanket wool in for this and the little hugs too. So yeah, style raft dk suits me perfectly.
