A few of us fancy doing a few squares for this, so here's a thread!

As blankets need to be 4x6 squares (24 total), the idea is that we arrange ourselves into small groups by geography and do a few each, then meet to put them together and eat cake

I'll link the previous Location thread shortly so folk can add themselves and get organising Thanks

I was in Refuge with my DS when he was 2. He was given a Linus quilt which he will keep for ever. It was such a wonderful thing to be given, and meant such a lot to me as we didn't have much. I make Linus quilts regularly to try and repay what I got, but would love the opportunity to make a blanket or some squares. On behalf of the recipients, Thank You Thanks you wonderful lot Smile

I have started crocheting. So far I have about 2 metres of chain stitch Blush I'd love to help but feel a bit useless only going in a straight line. When do you need to finalise teams? I can try and practise more advanced techniques later today or would I be best spending a few weeks practising before trying to join?

Thank you

I also live in the middle of nowhere, scotland so would probably be a poster too as the only things round here are sheep but they don't eat cake so I'm happy

trib, that's super kind of you, but I've ordered the wool. It sometimes takes a couple of weeks to arrive, so I will be a bit behind.

I'm thinking of doing some plain garters and some of the team hearts (without the lacy edge). And maybe some stripes to break them up a bit (I just did one of the three colour stripes in last year's refuge book and very nice it is too - in burnt orange, purple and apple green cashmerino)?

Ebony, there's a crafty Scottish meet being arranged, let me find you the link and get some proper help. Youtube is also your friend, and I've got several people untangled recently. We'll get you there in no time :o

I can knit some squares for this, too. What type of yarn? need it spelled out in small words today, have a bit of a mushy brain on as have been overdoing this week after an ME crash.

Won't be able to do a meet up, sadly, just not well enough., can I post?

Stressed wait for Trib or Shredded to confirm before you order but I think Team Knit is going with Patons Smoothie in lime and cream.

Sizing etc still TBC but requirement is for garter stitch border to aid joining together.

tribpot · 15/09/2012 13:14

Stressed, Barbara is right. We have started a Team Knit project using Patons Smoothie in Lime (1010) and Cream (1019). I'll PM you some more info. However, please don't feel compelled to join in with that project, I think we will probably have at least one more Team Knit project running alongside that. Sorry to hear you're not well - my DH suffers from fibro/chronic fatigue so I know a bit about what it's like :(

trib, I'll get a couple of ball of the wool. I would really like to help with this project, as well as the Little Hugs Yorkhill one. I do some work with WA helping women move on from refuges and I know how much little things like this can mean to them.

As long as no-one minds some plain squares, it's all good.

Thankyou Pidjin, have been over to the thread. I've also progressed to double today quite well only knotted one square and managed a curved one

Go Ebony! I'm doing a carseat blanket for PidjChick just in dc, lovely and snuggly (think there's a pic of the bear square on my profile?)

Crochet is just cheapie acrylic in girlie colours. I have dusky rose that needs using, will try and get a good picture later :)

So can I definitely go ahead and order some style craft in pinks and purples and start going at squares? Are we having a theme? Like flowers or hearts or anything like that?
