A few of us fancy doing a few squares for this, so here's a thread!

As blankets need to be 4x6 squares (24 total), the idea is that we arrange ourselves into small groups by geography and do a few each, then meet to put them together and eat cake

I'll link the previous Location thread shortly so folk can add themselves and get organising Thanks

No idea what Htr is, I finished them in solid dc newbie

VintageEbonyGuitar · 04/10/2012 22:27

Scrap the last comment, confused self.

Tweetinat · 04/10/2012 22:55

Thank you Soupy - hope they go well with the rest but I have a mountain of stylecraft to redo if necessary!

I used pomegranate, turquoise and white.

PurplePidjin · 04/10/2012 22:59

I've done 5 rounds of clusters and a 6th round of consecutive stitches, all in UK treble/US double crochet. Plain cream.

I've done 4, might get a few more done on the way to the in laws this weekend :)

I've finished the first one now, 6 rounds of treble clusters and one final solid round of htr. I quite like it! I've started the second square but I'm going to have to go to bed. I'd like to think I'll have four done by the end of the weekend though, then I can get back to my little hug!

VintageEbonyGuitar · 04/10/2012 23:57

Ah, mine are the wrong size. Sorry, they'll be no use. They're naff anyway so it'll be no great loss Grin

Can you excuse my inexperience and make up the loss?

SoupDragon · 05/10/2012 06:58

How are they the wrong size? The joy of crochet is that they can be added to or frogged to make them the right size :)

And who cares about "naff"... by the time I've bodged the construction that wont matter anyway :o

PurplePidjin · 05/10/2012 07:28

Everyone's stitches are different sizes, so amount of rounds is largely irrelevant, Ebony. As long as they measure 6" across, they're fabulous Thanks

Send the squares, my lovely Smile

Crochet is magic!

SoupDragon · 08/10/2012 15:56

VintageEbony, they are absolutely fine :) Once they have been flattened out from where the postman screwed them into a ball to get them through the letter box Hmm They will complement the other squared perfectly :)

PurplePidjin · 08/10/2012 18:17

Hurrah Brew

Sorry, Soupy, will send mine soon but have only done 4 so far Blush

KnottyLocks · 08/10/2012 18:52

aJumpedUpPantryBoy · 08/10/2012 19:26

Pidjin, how many are we meant to do - I only sent 4

PurplePidjin · 08/10/2012 19:32

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 08/10/2012 19:57

4 is fine :)

I've done none!

VintageAxeWeldingPboredWarrior · 09/10/2012 00:24

Have nc'd

Seriously? actually surprised they weren't stomped on and burnt aswell.

I'm flouncing but as I have mh issues it's quite a bizarre task. Best of luck to you all, sorry I couldn't do anything for woolly hugs but probably for the best

SoupDragon · 09/10/2012 07:20

Why are you flouncing? Stay here in the warm wooly confines of Team Hooker. :)

SoupDragon · 09/10/2012 07:21

The squares were absolutely fine and will look lovely in the mythical finished blanket :)

VintageAxeWeldingPboredWarrior · 09/10/2012 07:34

stalker

Is it all make believe SoupDragon?

SoupDragon · 09/10/2012 07:59

Well, the squares aren't make believe but the finished blanket may well be if I don't get my finger out :o

SoupDragon · 09/10/2012 08:01

Bloody stalkers encroaching on mumsnet life.

Hang out in Team Hooker for a while. It's always nice in there.

PurplePidjin · 09/10/2012 08:31

Stay with us, Vintage, hooking as therapy works Is there anything we can help with - listening ear, woolly hugginess, Brew?

RatherBeOnThePiste · 09/10/2012 14:49

Hello chums. Tis warm and woolly in here, and kicking off elsewhere... I stay here.

What is HTr solid edge?

KnottyLocks · 09/10/2012 16:02

Shove up, Pistey!

KnottyLocks · 09/10/2012 16:03

HTR solid is when you HTr into each stick rather than follow the traditional granny cluster of three.
