Lovely blanket flubba

StuckInTheFensAwayFromHome · 11/09/2012 18:50

That's a great blanket - there's something really satisfying about knowing that you have put your time, love and energy into something!
So whatcha doin next Wink!!!

flubba · 11/09/2012 20:11

It's certainly not going to be another blanket! :o (I started it about a month ago! Blush)

I love making things for my kids and their friends, but I'm very new to crocheting and so very slow (and wonky) :o - so I'll probably get back to some sewing first, but I'm looking to see if I can find a pattern to crochet a Miss Mouse (from CBeebies) for my middle daughter as she loves her. I have a feeling that it'd end up looking more like a woolly blob with a bit of red bow tied in its hair and a few sticking out bits (head, limbs and ears) :o

flubba · 11/09/2012 20:15

I've found this, but not feeling very confident about giving it a go. Any thoughts?

Seabright · 11/09/2012 20:45

I am making this poncho at the mo. It's really easy, and looks quite impressive to me (only my third thing that I've made) and it's growing really fast.

flubba · 11/09/2012 20:48

Looks lovely! My head's spinning a bit at the instructions, but I'm sure it'd look less daunting with a less tired head in the morning...

What colours are you using?

PurplePidjin · 11/09/2012 20:52

Is currently in my hand - turquoise cotton

This is the mouse pattern i used for MrsY's dd, she's very simple and you can dress her as you like (mine is a ballerina with a blue tutu/cardi set and pink shoes) or even have several outfits, they don't take long!

bluebump · 12/09/2012 13:47

Hello everyone! There are some lovely projects going on here. I have finally finished a granny square blanket, it looks good on my sofa at last! I'm now doing a striped blanket using Patons Smoothie DK, I should have started this one first, my progress is much quicker and the wool far better quality than my other blanket.

I am loving the star pattern above, I think i'll give them a go and add them to my pile of attic24 hearts that I made and don't know what to do with yet Grin

PurplePidjin · 12/09/2012 14:37

Tie a loop and hang them on the Christmas tree!

bluebump · 12/09/2012 20:47

Good idea! I've managed to do 6 already, they are actually easy considering I can't usually follow a pattern!

PurplePidjin · 12/09/2012 21:09

There you go then, kid-proof chrissie decs :o

SoupDragon · 13/09/2012 12:09

Is that the star pattern I posted a link for? I am so pleased I found that pattern as it is easy peasy and they can be made in no time :) Unlike the snowflakes I started to make because I wanted a tree full Hmm

OP posts:
bluebump · 14/09/2012 21:25

Yes it's that pattern, it really is easy to follow i've been churning out loads of them again today! Much easier than the hearts...and I too have a snowflake pattern somewhere that i've not got around to trying yet. Maybe i'll brave that next...

LollipopViolet · 15/09/2012 22:14

Hi everyone :)

After a period of absence, I am back :) Doing a practice run for my Little Hug project at the moment.

When I do the real one, which wool would be good, I want to do a purple and darker purple stripy affair, I think :) Or if anyone can suggest another colour to go with the purple, I'd appreciate it :)

Wolfcub · 16/09/2012 09:22

DH came in to find me crocheting in bed this morning and nearly wet himself laughing at me. Hmm. After much frogging I finally seem to have got my little hug under control.
Lollipop I had a lovely deep purple in debbie bliss for Aillidh's squares, there should be a pic of it on my profile, but doing a whole blanket in that would be quite expensive unless you had a donor.

DillyTante · 16/09/2012 09:35

Hello all. I've lost my crochet mojo at the moment :(

Seabright · 16/09/2012 12:29

Flubba - my poncho is pale blue, mid/dark blue with a white row between each blue row. Should finish tonight/tomorrow, I think

SoupDragon · 16/09/2012 13:15

Dilly, you can have some of mine.

WIP:
Japanese flower scarf (christmas present)
Rainbow Ripple (holiday blanket)
My Ripple (been on the go for rather too long!)
Ugly Blanket Project (frogged an ugly charity shop blanket and turning it into something nicer)

There there is the Refuge blanket and the Little Hugs, a blanket out of cashmermino silk aran for me, the crocheted details I'm adding to the owl print canvas shopper from Primark plus many many projects pending on Pinterest.

Wolfcub · 16/09/2012 13:18

wow Soupy that's a very impressive list

SoupDragon · 16/09/2012 13:38

Too much mojo, not enough time! :o

OP posts:
aJumpedUpPantryBoy · 16/09/2012 13:46

What yarn are you using or your Japanese flower scarf Soupy?

I made a flower motif scarf last year in Sirdar Baby Bamboo (mainly cos I had lots of part balls left)
I'm really pleased with the way it turned out but it isn't warm, more decorative. I'd like to make another one in a really cosy yarn

SoupDragon · 16/09/2012 14:17

Funnily enough... Sirdar Baby Bamboo :o
