Come hither all those who haven't found their place on mumsnet, have scrapped in Aibu or crossed words in chat. The buddy bench shalt not judge.

The buddy bench will hand out wine and cakes, it will join you on your scoffathons getting pissed

All those who enter the Gazebo and sit on the bench, will have their sins erased and be given a warm welcome and cheerful chat from ApocalypseCheese, CheerfulYank, Anyfucker, HairExtensions, gomummy, tired mum and far, far too many more to mention.

Welcome to the buddy bench, we look forward to meeting you all

Oh and don't forget, last one to leave polishes bench and locks up !

Not upset was just confused! :) No need to depart. Grab an oversized fall sweater and have a seat!

Cheerful I am so not surprised at your sweater of choice. Had you said that it was rust-coloured, you'd be me right now! Grin

anonymousbird · 16/09/2010 16:13

Ok, glad have not offended.
So what goes on over here then??

We are in "AIBU" I see, so what's the main beef, or can it be anything, or do we just chat?

gomummy · 16/09/2010 16:34

Well, we have a lovely virtual bench, gazebo with fairy lights, a chiminea and BBQ, some wonderful treats to eat and the odd beverage....but the best part is the lovely company! :) Tis a warm, welcoming and friendly place! (Oh and sparkling clean and nicely decorated, I must add) Grin

Tiredmumno1 · 16/09/2010 17:42

Gomummy me and bump are ok, just tired.

No shortlist yet, i stopped thinking about it at mo, in the hope i may have a brain wave Grin

And i havent forgotten you just so you know, Smile, hope you are well

Allo cheerful, hope you are good

CheerfulYank · 16/09/2010 20:28

I am good tiredmum; it was a busy day at work. (When isn't it? I feel like my entire life is chasing small children around! :o) So glad to hear you and Baby Bump are doing well! You've got awhile before you need a shortlist, just concentrate on staying healthy and resting for now. :)

Hahaha no, gomummy, my sweater is sort of whitish-oatmeal colored. I guess we're the sort of twins whose mother doesn't dress them alike. :o

Welcome anon! We're pretty chill here on the bench. No fighting allowed and somebody always has delicious (virtual) goodies to share! Stick around if you like. I love it here, whenever something rough happens IRL I think, "Right, well I'll be letting the Bench know about this," and I feel better almost immediately. :)

CheerfulYank · 16/09/2010 20:30

Oh and hope DD feels better elmo!

And thanks for the muffin tiredmum :)

elmofan · 17/09/2010 09:27

elmofan · 17/09/2010 11:10

Ooh i love camping , have a great time tea x

gomummy · 17/09/2010 13:23

Glad DD is feeling better but sorry to hear that it's got you now Elmo. Curl up here and we'll take virtual care of you!

Envy Tea, I love camping but haven't been in a long time. Enjoy the peace and beauty of the early fall for me with a nice bonfire!

Another sweater-day today Cheerful. Do you drink coffee? I am imagining your busy days chasing children around and thinking of how much caffeine I would need.... Grin

Tiredmum I have to tell you of my obsession with other's nursery decor and ask what you are planning for baby's room? (I know nursery means something else in the UK but ykwim!) :)

CheerfulYank · 17/09/2010 22:13

Ooh, I am of course also obsessed with nursery decor! :) Do tell.

I wore a sweater today too, a grey one, and drank gallons of coffee, gomummy. :o It was actually kind of a rough day, we had a meeting during which I felt a little ambushed. More on that later...sigh. Also there's this very neglected little girl who just makes me so sad. Her hair has not been brushed in the two weeks since school has started. I am not exaggerating at all! So I decided to brush and braid it today and it took 45 minutes to get through it! Some people... :(

Ooh, I love camping too! Have fun tea! :)

gomummy · 17/09/2010 23:12

Oh Cheerful that is aweful, the poor little girl. :( It must be very hard in your line of work, I'm sure you must see some things that are not easy to watch.

Sorry to hear that you had an unpleasant meeting, especially on a Friday. Always hated bad meetings on Fridays because I'd stew all weekend over it.

How are you feeling now Elmo?

Tea, when you return, you must update us on Noah. Hope he is doing well and growing stronger.

elmofan · 18/09/2010 09:50

Aww thanks for looking after me so well Smile i still feel terrible tbh sore throat & flu like symptoms . I went to bed at 6pm last night as i just could not stop shivering . Dh is in work ATM so dd is playing on her ps3 while i rest Blush .
Oh cheerful that poor child :( . I used to be in your line of work & some of the children i cared for had witnessed terrible things :( abusive parents etc i once called SS about a little girl in my care that had witnessed her mum stab her dad in the neck & this child was only 3yrs old . She came into the creche every morning tired & hungry & in dirty clothes , it broke my heart :(
i bet she loved having her hair braided Smile .
I hope the weather is good for your camping trip tea x
How are you tiredmum ?

gomummy · 18/09/2010 23:30

Being sick is miserable. Hope you feel better soon Elmo.

elmofan · 19/09/2010 10:27

Thanks gomummy , the soup is delicious Smile
Do you grow your own veg ? I would love to have a big enough garden to do that Envy .
Its another cold & wet day here

gomummy · 19/09/2010 13:04

Yes Elmo, we grow all of our veg and most of our fruit and herbs for the year. It is a huge amount of work this time of year though, getting everything ready for winter.

Hope you are feeling better today Elmo. It's cold and wet here too. Off to build a big fire to warm things up!

Morning Buddy Benchers!

elmofan · 19/09/2010 13:47

ooh thats lovely gomummy Smile

I feel a bit stronger today so am cooking a nice family dinner ATM . Ds has come home earlier than expected as he felt homesick Shock Smile nice to know even though he grunts at us most of the time these days he still loves his mum & dad Wink

CheerfulYank · 20/09/2010 15:09

Awww..that's sweet elmofan :)

I made a big pot of veggie soup yesterday too, gomummy! Most of it was fresh from my FIL's garden though, as I've an incurable black thumb. :)

Happy Monday, Benchers!

Yes tea, how is Noah?

Tiredmumno1 · 20/09/2010 16:13

Hi all,

Nursery ideas eh lol, i havent thought that far ahead Blush

Hope that doesnt mean i am being slack Grin

Hope you are all well Smile

gomummy · 20/09/2010 18:04

LOL at "black thumb" Cheerful! It was a soup kind of weekend. Fall is wonderful! We've been doing the fall fairs an it is just so much fun now that DS is getting old enough to really enjoy it! :)

Glad you're feeling a bit better Elmo, and :) at your DS...

How was your camping trip Tea?

Tiredmum I loved planning DS' nursery (small space but incredibly efficent!), but as I was stuck in bed v. ill for my entire pregnancy it was only about 80% done when we got home from the hospital, finished within the first week of his arrival....so you're not being slack! Grin I adore that space now and love seeing/hearing what others plan for theirs. Will it be neutral or do you think you'll know baby's sex?

Tiredmumno1 · 20/09/2010 21:24

I really dont know if the hospital will say.

I found out with my eldest as we had probs with the pregnancy, and i saw my consultant nearly every week, so he did my scans, my mil was there one day and asked, he blurted it out, that it was a boy, then he apologised to me as he didnt ask if i wanted to know lol, i was fine with that.

With my youngest i only saw him near the end, when he tried to turn baby out of breech position, so he didnt do any scans that time, but we didnt ask when we did have the normal scan.

I am going back to the same hospital for this one, even though its further away, but i am back under my old consultant, which has made me happy that it has been him for all my pregnancies.

I will see him in about nine weeks but i doubt he will do a scan unless i have any probs (fingers crossed i dont)

Not sure if the normal scan people will tell me. But i may ask Grin

gomummy · 20/09/2010 22:53

Ooh, I vote for asking Tiredmum! Grin It will make names and nursery decor much easier to come up with for us Benchers!

Have always envied people who don't find out though. I had to know (and it was really obvious looking at the screen even if they hadn't told us, lol!), but always thought it must be really amazing for those that don't.

Hope you are feeling well Tiredmum.

Tiredmumno1 · 21/09/2010 00:14

Aww i am ok gomummy, just been a bit busy, my littlest went to proper school today, he looked so cute in his uniform, bless him, he is the youngest in the class.

Engineer eventually came today, they are giving us a wireless router, in the hope it sorts the problem, so fingers crossed it all goes well, if it turns up tomorrow and works, i will have my comp back.

If the scanners dont want to say, then when i speak to my consultant, i will ask him to have words, so i can try and find out.
