Come hither all those who haven't found their place on mumsnet, have scrapped in Aibu or crossed words in chat. The buddy bench shalt not judge.

The buddy bench will hand out wine and cakes, it will join you on your scoffathons getting pissed

All those who enter the Gazebo and sit on the bench, will have their sins erased and be given a warm welcome and cheerful chat from ApocalypseCheese, CheerfulYank, Anyfucker, HairExtensions, gomummy, tired mum and far, far too many more to mention.

Welcome to the buddy bench, we look forward to meeting you all

Oh and don't forget, last one to leave polishes bench and locks up !

gomummy · 31/08/2010 17:24

The bili light will help quickly I'm sure Tea, and his little lungs will get stronger every day! Your brother & SIL must be so worried, hope they have lots of support and positive vibes around. Will say a little prayer for all of them.

Tiredmumno1 · 31/08/2010 17:57

Hmm, must be something in that September air causing us all to be born at the same time of year. Grin

In our family we are almost all born in May. Odd.

Good luck tomorrow Tea, don't know if you'll be able to hold him, but I hope you can.

gomummy · 31/08/2010 19:08

thinks Tea probably...

CheerfulYank · 31/08/2010 21:43

Hope all is well with your little nephew Tea! Let us know how he's doing. Over three lbs is actually pretty good for a preemie these days, isn't it! I'm sure he'll be just fine. Poor litle guy!

My birthday is the 17th. :) Taurus through and through!

Will look up trip details gomummy! I'm not sure we'll be able to swing it money wise but I would absolutely love it. I could use a trip anywhere at the moment, DS has been the crankiest little stinker imaginable the past few days! Today he had three meltdowns beside the road on the way to the library because of his "itchy skeeto bites!" This after it took us an hour to get out of the house because he wanted to wear his knight helmet for biking instead of his bike helmet.

Is anyone else just amazed at how angry tantrums make you? I mean, I try to keep it relatively calm on the outside but inside, when he starts screaming, I am just boiling. I hate it! :(

elmofan · 31/08/2010 21:56

Aw cheerful :( i found once dd had started pre-school her tantrums slowly faded out as she was too tired to bother kicking up much of a fuss for her own way . It is very hard sometimes not to react isn't it . Hope you & ds have a better day tomorrow

teaandcakeplease · 31/08/2010 21:58

My birthday is late June and I was meant to be a July baby but born by a planned c section 2 weeks before, so no chance Tiredmum of being May Grin

Nephew still jaundiced, low blood sugar and still hasn't pooed. So not ideal no Sad

Tantrums, ahhh yes, maybe you should buy that book Cheerful Wink Try asking him to show you on paper how angry he is next time? Give him a pen and see him let rip. Then you can say "hmmm you're that angry huh?" etc and he'll apparently calm down Hmm

However my usual response is "you have a nice rest and come and find me when calm" and to walk off, then resolve it with them after they're calm. Or today after 20 mins of screaming over something minor whilst trying to walk home from the library, I confess after a while I said "if you do not calm down, they'll be no TV before bed" Blush As I'd tried reasoning with her, explaining etc and had run out of options and was about to explode. Shocking behaviour

Yes Cheerful it is so hard, keeping that uber-calm face and voice whilst fuming inside! I think DS has read your tip, Tea, as when he is really frustrated he takes himself off to the paper recycle bin to destroy! Has been a long day here as well, and a while to go yet as DH has made plans for us to visit long-lost friends of his this evening....ugh, I don't know why he'd time it that way as DS will get overtired and miserable, leading to me becoming overtired and miserable, lol!

Sorry to hear that your nephew isn't coming along too well yet, Tea. How's his breathing doing?

teaandcakeplease · 01/09/2010 07:51

Breathings better it's just everything else Sad

gomummy · 01/09/2010 13:19

Thinking of you today Tea, hope things are improved with your nephew by the time you go for your visit.

elmofan · 01/09/2010 16:25

HiSmile

Tea dd was born 4weeks early(not as early as your nephew i know) but she was 5 days old before she took her first poo , she is fine though so please god your nephew's condition will improve very soon & he will thrive xx
