Come hither all those who haven't found their place on mumsnet, have scrapped in Aibu or crossed words in chat. The buddy bench shalt not judge.

The buddy bench will hand out wine and cakes, it will join you on your scoffathons getting pissed

All those who enter the Gazebo and sit on the bench, will have their sins erased and be given a warm welcome and cheerful chat from ApocalypseCheese, CheerfulYank, Anyfucker, HairExtensions, gomummy, tired mum and far, far too many more to mention.

Welcome to the buddy bench, we look forward to meeting you all

Oh and don't forget, last one to leave polishes bench and locks up !

Me too, Tea, you can depend on the bench! :)

My DS is starting preschool on the 7th, and I'm also due back at school then. Ugh...not excited at all though it will be lovely to be able to peek into DS's class whenever I want. :) He's 3 and will only be going for 2 hours on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

Are we doing an age check? I'm 28. I really rthought I would have my life more together at this point, if I'm to be honest. Hmm

Apple tart! And I see you've made a gluten free version for me, elmo...hey, this is virtual eh? :o

teaandcakeplease · 30/08/2010 09:38

I'm 32.

Thanks ladies, off to my mums for the day. See you all later. Been reading a good book called "how to talk so your kids will listen, and listen so your kids will talk". Amazing stuff. I've had it lying around for a while until now Shock

gomummy · 30/08/2010 13:03

I'm 30.

Is it good, Tea? I have heard of it, good reviews.

Cheerful that is just so nice that you'll be able to look in on your DS. Must be very comforting to you in the process.

Morning everyone! :) Delicious apple tart, Elmo!

Tiredmumno1 · 30/08/2010 15:40

Thought i would pop on to tell you i am 30, now i feel like we know each other so much more now Grin

i am waiting for our nice roast for din dins, hubby is cooking, so i am just relaxing now.

hopefully gonna have an earlier night if the kids let me.

CheerfulYank · 30/08/2010 21:35

Sounds good tiredmum! :)

DS woke up at the crack of dawn today b/c DH turned off the fan in the middle of the night and also didn't close his blackout curtains. (Realize I sound like a pouty child -"And it's all DH's fault!" as well as slightly PFB about DS's sleeping arrangments. But you just cannot put too high a price on a a toddlers sleep, IMO!)

Anyway he was cranky and would not leave me for five seconds to do anything...he's gotten all Oedipal lately, wanting to be within touching distance of me every second and glaring at DH when he gets home from work. :o So I called his two little friends to come over and play and it all worked out well minus some shattered glass from a broken picture frame. (Apparently the culprit was DS and the weapon a hurled Buzz Lightyear toy phone). I got quite a few things done around the house; it smells all lemony and bleachy and lovely.

Gomummy I know you've told me this before, but how far are you from Prince Edward Island?

Tiredmumno1 · 30/08/2010 22:34

Well cheerful we will have to blame toy story and its makers for your broken picture frame, them and their bright ideas eh HmmGrin

kids are so funny sometimes they change their moods and wants so regularly.

i cant keep up lol

gomummy · 30/08/2010 22:51

Cheerful I am so with you on the fan and blackout blinds, an integral part of my life! Ooh, and on the lemony and bleachy and lovely smell, it just makes me so happy! Grin

On PEI, if I drive straight through and only stop for gas (and have done, I am a sucker for fresh seafood), I can be on the island in about 14-15 hours. Would be faster if I didn't have to pass through a major city on the way, takes a good bite out of the time.

Are you thinking of visiting Anne or some great golf?

Hey Tiredmum did you forget where your computer is? Wink :)

CheerfulYank · 30/08/2010 22:56

Hmm gomummy that is quite a drive isn't it! I want to go on a family vacation at some point that's not too expensive and since i'm a huge Anne geek I've heard PEI is lovely I'd like to go there. And if I'm in the same country as you I want to have a meet-up! :) Also DS saw the pics you emailed me awhile ago and wants to play with your DS on the basis of his Thomas the Tank Engine shirt. :o

You're right tiredmum, stupid Toy Story!

I weighed myself today (five days into The Hundred Dollar Bet) and have lost 5 lbs! YAY! I think it's slightly cheating though as I had my period when I first weighed myself and I tend to pork up like a prize heifer during those few days. Lovely image eh? :o

gomummy · 30/08/2010 22:58

Cheerful if you drive from your house to PEI you will likely go right by me if you travel on the Canadian side! I can suggest an excellent rest spot on your road trip, the food is fabulous! Grin

CheerfulYank · 30/08/2010 23:06

Oooh now there's a plan! Will have to run it by DH. It probably won't be until spring, but I would really love to see PEI and of course you. Perhaps we will have found a hunky pilot to fly tea over by that point?!

gomummy · 30/08/2010 23:08

YAY Cheerful! Congrats on the 5 lbs!

X-post, but yes we'll definitely have to meet up if you come to Canada! PEI is lovely, I really like the east coast. You can entice your DS by telling him that we have every.single.engine. from Thomas. The nice die cast ones that leave an impression on the bottom of your foot and allow you to create new swear words like "shhhhhhhhhhh..ugar!"

I miss the rounded edges of Little People!

gomummy · 30/08/2010 23:12

Yes Tea's pilot would be handy, we can be on PEI in about 2 hours if he will also do a domestic flight! Grin

gomummy · 30/08/2010 23:15
Grin
CheerfulYank · 30/08/2010 23:18

Oh Tea's pilot will be just mad for us for having hooked him up with such a lovely and will do anything our little hearts desire! :o

LOL at made up swearwords, I have used "Brother Tucker!" on more occasions than I'd like to admit! I told DS he was a monk, "like Friar Tuck on your Robin Hood movie..." Blush

Tiredmumno1 · 30/08/2010 23:20

Right i do have mail Grin

its long lol, i will put the comp on again tomoz, i cant see hubby getting off to soon haha bloody men.

CheerfulYank · 30/08/2010 23:21

CheerfulYank · 30/08/2010 23:23

YAAAAAY! I would love to visit you! And we will find a way to smuggle Tea and Elmo and tired over somehow...

Got to go, we're at the library and DS is done with his video and is racing around being noisy. :o Have a good evening!

Tiredmumno1 · 30/08/2010 23:24

Wow freaky, may is the best month ever, thats when mine is lol

CheerfulYank · 30/08/2010 23:24

LOL at x posts, of course we have the same birth month. Why wouldn't we?! :o

gomummy · 30/08/2010 23:25

We're counting on you here Tea, going to need that pilot in time for 2011 to get yourself and Tiredmum and Elmo over here! Grin To quote a wise, cheerful woman, "take one for the team!" LOL! Wink
