Come hither all those who haven't found their place on mumsnet, have scrapped in Aibu or crossed words in chat. The buddy bench shalt not judge.

The buddy bench will hand out wine and cakes, it will join you on your scoffathons getting pissed

All those who enter the Gazebo and sit on the bench, will have their sins erased and be given a warm welcome and cheerful chat from ApocalypseCheese, CheerfulYank, Anyfucker, HairExtensions, gomummy, tired mum and far, far too many more to mention.

Welcome to the buddy bench, we look forward to meeting you all

Oh and don't forget, last one to leave polishes bench and locks up !

That might be the key here Tea, out of ideas for bribery though...?

Would your DD be upset if there was no nappy at sleep time? DS couldn't find one for his poo the other day as I was rearranging the room where they are stored and was just beside himself with panic!

We are still in nappies at night, though really, I know they are dry until the moment he wakes up. I expect it will be a long time before those are given up but who knows! The daytime stuff is coming much sooner than I thought so I could be wrong there too!

teaandcakeplease · 13/07/2010 08:29

I bought DD a scooter as she really wanted one and we couldn't go and ride it until she pooed on potty, as scooters are for big girls and big girls poo on the potty

When she first did it I got very excited, lots of hugs, kisses etc.

She back tracked again and I said she couldn't go out on the scooter until she started pooing again in the potty.

Sounds fairly harsh but it worked

My friend used a DVD instead that she bought to bribe.

Desperate times, desperate measures

Whatever works! That is a great idea though, hadn't even thought of doing anything so big but it might just be motivational. Though even a DVD of Thomas would probably work wonders here. We are headed out shortly, perhaps we will check it out. Have a good day!

Tiredmumno1 · 13/07/2010 22:24

Hey gomummy, sorry about that i keep vanishing.

i am popping on and off when i can, just been a bit busy thats all.

hoping all is good

gomummygo · 13/07/2010 22:52

Hey Tiredmum, you are missed, hope you are well and that it's good-busy iykwim!

CheerfulYank · 14/07/2010 17:44

Hi all! Yes, the pooing in the potty. Sigh... DS has been really consistent at home but when he's at home he just runs around in underwear and then goes to the bathroom as needed. When he's other places (like daycare) and wearing clothes he needs help to take off, he just goes in his pants. Arrrghhh!

teaandcakeplease · 14/07/2010 19:40

Special moment tonight when my DS vomited down my back, in my hair, across the carpet and all over my DD's dolls and cribs etc.

Cue trying to keep DD away from sick, calm son down and then try and work out what to do first, my son, everything else then me?

gomummygo · 15/07/2010 02:10

Aw Tea, that's no fun at all. Hope you are all cleaned up and poor DS is feeling better by now.

Tiredmumno1 · 15/07/2010 11:48

well i hope everything is good for everyone today.

the wind is so strong, i gotta go out in a min, my hair will be all over the place

s'pose theres no point in taking a brush eh

teaandcakeplease · 15/07/2010 20:30

It was windy wasn't it! I went out for the first time at 3pm and got seriously blown about.

We haven't been sharing food lately on the bench have we? I've just been complaining! LOL

Thanks Tea! Gooey chocolatey brownies are good for the soul, I do believe.

Tis my fault about the bench though. Things have been aweful here (horrible neighbors, or rather, neighbors' horrible long-term-visiting relatives) so I have not been baking/cooking/anything I normally am up to either irl or on here! Feels like all I do right now is repair/defend our property, all day and night, on basically no sleep because it is worst at night. And feel worse because all the stress and complete lack of sleep has made me a much less cheery and energetic mummy than normal. Anyway enough of my moaning and apols to all for the absence of treats.

Tiredmumno1 · 16/07/2010 18:35

Haha its friday

its the weekend buddy benchers

whoop whoop

CheekyLittleSox · 16/07/2010 18:38

i went out at 12.30 today and got piss wet through from the rain, got home and dried off, put jeans on tumble dryer along with coats of me and DS2. Went back to school at 3.15 and got piss wet through again on way home but the rain was like what you see on films and soaps where you knows it s hose pipe above them. Grrrrrrr

elmofan · 16/07/2010 18:39

Hello to all on the buddy bench

How are you all ?

teaandcakeplease · 16/07/2010 20:59

GoMummy that sounds terrible, come and tell us all

OP posts:
gomummygo · 17/07/2010 01:51

Thank you!

Am too afraid to talk about it just yet. It has been a long week with tresspassers everywhere. Damage to home and vehicle. Garbage. Broken trees/plants. Endless stress. Will tell the bench if/when it ends - DH is over there now...

Please take my mind off this and tell me all about your weekend plans, Buddy Benchers!

Tiredmumno1 · 17/07/2010 01:59

Gomummy i would love to tell you my plans, except this alcohol has muffled my brain

p.s. sorry your havin a bad time

Tiredmumno1 · 17/07/2010 02:02

It does sound terrible.

who is doing it?

and where is your dh?

gomummygo · 17/07/2010 03:03

Thanks Tiredmum. DH was over at neighbors to calmly discuss the "problem". I am not one to "calmly discuss" such things, so we decided it was in everyone's best interest that he go alone. We'll see tonight if it has made any difference - I doubt it from their response.

teaandcakeplease · 17/07/2010 09:31

I'm so sorry

I know someone else on this thread who had terrible problems with their neighbour and still does. It must be so awful and stressful for you. Hope things start to get better soon x

OP posts:
elmofan · 17/07/2010 11:37

Oh gomummy so sorry to hear you are having troubles . I can completely sympathise with how stressful this can all be as i have similar problems . Sending you a big UN - MN hug x.
In my situation things got so bad that i eventually started a thread on here & found a very kind & supportive friend , who gave me a listening ear & that really helped , and i am very grateful for all her advice .
I hope your DH gets this sorted . x

teaandcakeplease · 17/07/2010 16:18

Ahhhh thanks Elmo

OP posts:
gomummygo · 17/07/2010 16:28

Thanks Tea and Elmo, and it does help as I can't talk to anyone irl about it. Elmo - so sorry to hear you're in a similar boat, it is very stressful. I don't think DH had much success really, and don't expect it to improve. Makes for a very unpleasant situation.

elmofan · 17/07/2010 17:09

As tea knows i was also terrified to go into too much detail on here about my situation but tea & i have been in contact through email & that really helped . gomummy if you ever need a listening ear just say the word x

teaandcakeplease · 17/07/2010 18:11

Yeah CAT Elmo or vice versa, we are a buddy bench afterall

Well toad in the hole for dinner here, with new potatos, runner beans and carrots with gravy.

Already drinking a vodka and lemonade as things were getting awful with DS being tricky, I think he's entering the terrible two's 6 months early, it's not tiredness, as he's had 2 naps today and seems well. So Michael Buble Crazy Love album playing loudly and the alcohol is starting to help

GoMummy you're so lovely and you don't deserve this Really hope things get better.
