Come hither all those who haven't found their place on mumsnet, have scrapped in Aibu or crossed words in chat. The buddy bench shalt not judge.

The buddy bench will hand out wine and cakes, it will join you on your scoffathons getting pissed

All those who enter the Gazebo and sit on the bench, will have their sins erased and be given a warm welcome and cheerful chat from ApocalypseCheese, CheerfulYank, Anyfucker, HairExtensions, gomummy, tired mum and far, far too many more to mention.

Welcome to the buddy bench, we look forward to meeting you all

Oh and don't forget, last one to leave polishes bench and locks up !

Happy Birthday, Tea! I wish I'd known it was your birthday, I'd have sent you a card.

Thank you Cheeky!

Totally forgot to wish GoMummy on blowing out candles!

Feeling a tad merry as had some girls over tonight and have drunk 2 Pina Colada's and 1 large glass of wine. Light weight!

teaandcakeplease · 28/06/2010 22:58

Just letting you know you were missed Tiredmum!

gomummygo · 28/06/2010 23:06

Does it still count?

CheerfulYank · 28/06/2010 23:37

Yup, huuuuuge card person! We are doppelgangers, gomummy, we might as well face it. How's your DH, cheeky?

I'm a lightweight too, tea. I wasn't always but then after I took a year off what with being pregnant and nursing and emerged totally unable to hold my drink. Ah well, tis cheaper.

New poll for The Bench: We've done favorite books and movies, but what are some of your favorite things? You know, bright copper kettles and all that. I'll do the first 5 that come to mind.

1)Red toenail polish. I always have it on, and masses of bottles around the house. My current favorite is called Cinna-snap.

2)Pink tulips. They're just so happy.

  1. Rosemary Mint shampoo. I've got some, and I wake up every morning excited to shower and use it. It's divine.

  2. Candles that smell like baking.

  3. Blue Mason jars filled with sand and seashells. I have three of them for a centerpiece, and they're very serene-looking. I like 'em!

All right, your turn!

gomummygo · 29/06/2010 00:39

Cheerful you are so right! Cinnamon toenail polish everywhere in this house too, lol! Ok, trying to narrow it down off the top of my head:

  1. Wood fires. (Not just because it's the only kind of winter heat where I am, but because it is so cozy and comforting to look at - I can't help but stare into the flames).
  1. Wet pine trees. Ok, actually, the smell of the forest after it rains.
  1. Momentos of places I've been with DH. I am otherwise the complete opposite of a pack rat, but I save a little something from everywhere interesting we've been.
  1. Giant sunflowers. Same reason as Cheerful's #2!
  1. A neck roll pillow. Can't believe how long I wanted one before I got one and I do adore it as much as I thought I would!

And.......shiny copper kettles...

and my aprons and cleaning tools [sick, sick girl emoticon]

teaandcakeplease · 29/06/2010 09:09

Ohhh my kitchen and baking equipment. I love baking

Sunflowers and Gerbera's

My hot pink nail polish, use it all the time. Pink is my favourite colour

My pretty dangly earrings

Photos, I spend a lot of time framing photos or playing with them on Snapfish and getting them sent to me in collages.

Probably not quite what you were looking for. One day if I find a rich pilot I would love to refit my kitchen and buy lots of lovely things like Le Cresuet (sp?)

  1. my trainers, cant live without them.
  1. mumsnet

tee hee, i am useless at this.

gomummygo · 29/06/2010 20:08

Ok everyone, what are your top three (I have thousands so must restrain self!) favourite photos in your home? Mine would be:

  1. A particular wedding photo (eloped, white tie formal, just the two of us in a beautiful destination) - it is the way DH is looking at me that gets me - I have never actually seen him look at me like that, feel like the photographer caught a glimpse of something special.
  1. Photo of DH holding/looking at DS right after he was born.
  1. Arial photo of my property
CheerfulYank · 29/06/2010 20:55

Oooh, good one. Mine are:

The wedding photo on my profile

A picture my best friend took of me while pregnant; I'm cradling my bump and looking really peaceful

A black and white photo of DS and one of my good friend's DDs holding hands and grinning

teaandcakeplease · 29/06/2010 22:04

Well I did have some favourite wedding pics Not now though and there are far far too many gorgeous photos of the kids in my place to choose. Probably my most fav, is one of me in Llanelli on the beach, holding my boy when he was only 5 months, it was a shot I didn't know was being taken and I'm staring out to sea with a peaceful half smile on my face, my boy was sucking his thumb.

OMG WE ARE THE SAME PERSON! I, too, am over-caffeinated today. I had a wicked headache and took a million pills, the main ingredient of which is caffeine, and then drank a few cups of coffee which tipped me over the edge. I felt like I was going to jitter out of my skin all day.

gomummygo · 30/06/2010 01:53

OMG I cannot believe it - Cheerful that is what happened to me!!! I thought I had another migraine coming on so took the pain relievers with caffeine and drank with strong coffee. Now am bouncing off the walls. I have just cleaned all of the piano keys...

CheerfulYank · 30/06/2010 02:31

Wow...that is weird! Look at my profile-do we look alike too?

Tiredmumno1 · 30/06/2010 10:13

Lol i am gonna say there is a similarity between you 2 haha. you could be twins
