Hi all, here we are again ...

As always, everyone welcome to pile in with AIBU book synopses, as long as you bring ice cream or something equally tempting for when we're stuck.

To continue mine - I'm in charge but it's terribly difficult to keep control. I don't know how long I can keep their respect. I didn't ask to be in charge ...

Morning, all!

...I'm not doing any harm, and I need somewhere to live since I ran away from home...

CJCregg · 14/06/2010 13:32

Morning all!

at missing the Dawn Treader ... no idea what livewood is ...

Treacle, why did you run away from home? Were they treating you badly? Or forcing you into marrying the curate ?

OP posts:
ElephantsAndMiasmas · 14/06/2010 21:49

..or were they trying to stop you from having children, treacle? if so YADNBU - but i feel i may be out on a limb here

steamedtreaclesponge · 14/06/2010 22:09

...No, I'm too young for any of that stuff. I just like drawing everything here...

CJCregg · 16/06/2010 13:00

Treacle, you sound like a very trendy modern version of Oliver Twist that I read once, where he was a graffiti artist ... I'll spare you the details ...

MCP, and AIBU to just want to do my job?

OP posts:
steamedtreaclesponge · 16/06/2010 14:55

Hmm, doesn't sound too U, CJ, what's stopping you?

...Well, my hideout at the museum was found, and now this rather eccentric family seem to have taken me in...

CJCregg · 16/06/2010 16:18

Pesky, interfering children and do-gooders, that's what! Saying he's innocent, when he's clearly a danger to society ...

MCP - I take it you're not Oliver, then!

OP posts:
ElephantsAndMiasmas · 16/06/2010 18:49

ooh you sound like a blyton villain, CJ! (Am currently addicted to west wing btw, it is the best show in the world) Unless you're the uncast part of the prison warden in the Railway Children?

CJCregg · 16/06/2010 19:14

No, my job's a bit more demanding than that, Elephants. It's not a job most people would enjoy, but it does require a certain skill. I just like it because I think it's fun

PS Not a Blyton villain, but I'm not exactly on the side of the angels ...

OP posts:
CJCregg · 16/06/2010 19:16

(Glad you're enjoying the West Wing - it is fab, isn't it? Wondered why we hadn't seen you )

OP posts:
ElephantsAndMiasmas · 16/06/2010 20:20

I think it might involve bumping people off, CJ? (still clueless though) In an offical capacity?

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 16/06/2010 20:21

(Yeah, between more work and the complete box set - let's just say that I feel like I live in Josh's office )

steamedtreaclesponge · 16/06/2010 22:01

Hmm... MCP CJ, yours is ringing a bell but I suspect it could be any number of things!

And no, not Oliver... I just want to make pots!

pollywollydoodle · 17/06/2010 14:04

(climbs off raft, spits out a jellyfish)

cj, are you an embalmer/mortician/taxidermist???

Poledra · 17/06/2010 21:36

Or, CJ, are you a bodysnatcher???

CJCregg · 17/06/2010 21:45

No, I am none of these but I am, as Elephants suggested, in the death industry. And I just hate being deprived of my big moment ...

OP posts:
pollywollydoodle · 17/06/2010 21:55

do you prepare people for their trip down to hell, cj

Poledra · 17/06/2010 22:07

CJ, do you TALK IN CAPITALS ALL THE TIME, are fond of curry and own a horse called Binky?

CJCregg · 18/06/2010 15:01

No, neither of those - although they both sound interesting.

I'm just a bit pissed off, frankly. I came all the way out here to do my job, and the bloody thing's disappeared ...

OP posts:
pollywollydoodle · 18/06/2010 21:35

you're not dexter are you, cj?

steamedtreaclesponge · 18/06/2010 22:32

Aaarg, CJ, I really feel like I should know what yours is and I just can't think... MCP?

...I think this family are a bit bohemian, really, but I've been having fun decorating for the midsummer party at Todefright...

CJCregg · 18/06/2010 23:11

Good Lord, Treacle - 'Todefright' nearly had me running for the hills, fingers in ears, screaming 'elves, elves, save yourself!' but luckily Google tells me that you're nothing to do with elves and are in fact Philip Warren, precocious potter ...

Is it any good? Looks interesting.

No, I'm not Dexter. I'd sharpened my blade especially for the occasion - I know it was something to do with those blasted kids ... it was obvious the animal was guilty, but they insisted on an appeal ...

OP posts:
Pogleswood · 19/06/2010 09:39

TBH you are sounding a bit "elvish" yourself,CJ....out with your blade to execute an innocent animal which you thought was a danger to society...doesn't sound like normal real world behaviour to me!

After all, people in the real world do not have blades - they are restricted to swashbuckling piratical type novels, and those blades which glint with mystic runes and were forged by - ok ,I won't say it!

MCP!

Poledra · 19/06/2010 16:33

CJ, do you have an interesting collection of garden statuary?

Pogleswood · 19/06/2010 17:28

Pol - don't go away - tell me about livewood, pleeease? My googling produced some interesting, but unhelpful sites, and it is niggling me!
