AIBU Books Game Part Seven

Hi all, here we are again ...

As always, everyone welcome to pile in with AIBU book synopses, as long as you bring ice cream or something equally tempting for when we're stuck.

To continue mine - I'm in charge but it's terribly difficult to keep control. I don't know how long I can keep their respect. I didn't ask to be in charge ...

AIBU to cheat on my boyfriend?

Pogleswooooo · 29/10/2010 19:46
Smile

Is he a bit of a baaastard,Pointless??

I'd be a bit careful with that nice CJ if I were you,I know she says she was just having a bit of a joke with all those comments,but....well,just be careful,eh?

PointlessTheLamb · 29/10/2010 20:11

Hello Pogleswooooooo! Actually I think CJ is amaaaaaazing, she has such a dry sense of humour. But you're pretty special too, you really look after me

Yes, I think he is a bit of a bastard, frankly. I was quite in awe of him at first, he's so glamorous and talented and artistic, but I suspect there's something going on with an older woman ...

Pogleswooooo · 29/10/2010 21:39

How nice of you to say I'm pretty special,Pointless!
Yes,we are,um,fans of CJ's dry humour too Grin!

And to move swiftly on,never trust a glamorous,talented,artistic man,that's what I always say...MCP!

EvilAntsAndMiasmas · 30/10/2010 10:36

Oh my goodness! Hello Young Pointless! All this, um, erudition was sure to rub off on you sooner or later.

Mmm interesting about your boyfriend - have you been separated by war or anything?

llambcurry · 31/10/2010 00:37
EvilAntsAndMiasmas · 31/10/2010 13:37

Shock llambcu....ddles?

llandb · 31/10/2010 16:09

Ooh yes, much better idea. Of course, I meant grass curry for the lamb Wink

PointlessTheLamb · 31/10/2010 21:09

Grass curry, yum! Did someone say poppadoms?

No, it's not wartime and we're not separated. I just don't think he's that into me. And this other chap, who I found annoying at first, is turning out to be quite a good laugh. At least he doesn't have a silly name ...

(Sorry for absence, been away for weekend)

EvilAntsAndMiasmas · 01/11/2010 10:02

Pointless - you went away for the weekend? Pastures new?

NIMCPpppppp it sounds intriguing :)

Pogleswooooo · 01/11/2010 14:40

Somewhere where sheep may safely graze, presumably ,unlike here with the ever present threat of curry shipwreck...

Glamorous, talented, artistic, and with a silly name...,no still NIMCP here!

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 01/11/2010 14:55

Yeah, if CJ were here she'd probably point him in the direction of the atheist version of the valley of the shadow of death.

Have gone blank on any literary figures with silly names. Nope, none at all in my head.

BTW went to Keats House the other day and amongst the gloom I did grin at the idea of the Belle Dame Sans Merci AIBU :o

CJCregg · 01/11/2010 20:16

Hi all Grin

Pointless is having a bit of shore leave ... I left him with some sailors who were promising to take him to Mary's for a sleepover. I am continuing his AIBU for him Wink

Yes, he's a bit of twat really. Charming, and all that, but I was taken in by all that flamboyance. And I suspect he was only interested in my because of my influential uncle. This other chap, who I originally thought was an idiot, is rather sweet. Bit of a pisshead, though ...

(Elephants, I behaved spectacularly badly when I went to Keats House. Couldn't stop giggling, mainly because all the doorframes were so low and I started wondering if old short-arse had a complex and thought everyone was taking the piss. I did something similar when I went to Chawton. I don't know what's wrong with me - I make pilgrimages to these places, because I love these writers, and then can't help taking the piss. It's like laughing in church. Bloody funny though.)

Bugger, my other post obviously got lost

You're very naughty CJ, Keats House is No Laughing Matter. Although I did find myself holding my breath and shying away from soft furnishings, worrying about whether they'd had a proper wash since the days of spluttering up blood etc.

You sound a little Georgette Heyer...what does he want from your uncle?

CJCregg · 04/11/2010 19:50

Well, quite - it's impossible in the face of all that hushed awe and reverence not to gently mock be concerned about poor old Johnny's coughing fits, general sanitary conditions in NW3 in those days and how often he might have bumped his poor head on those low doorframes.

Anyway, I'm not a GH heroine this time (though one is surely due). More of a modern girl. I thought it would fun going out with an artist, quite Bohemian, but it's not really working out. He behaved appallingly at the annual dance - smarmed up to my uncle and flirted with someone else's wife. So I left him there, and went off with the other guy. We had a bit of a snog in the back of the taxi. Fair enough, don't you think? Or AIBU?

OP posts:
CJCregg · 05/11/2010 13:35

Is there anybody out there?

OP posts:
Pogleswood · 05/11/2010 14:04

Hey!
I'm here but I think I've ground to a halt on the AIBU front,my brain won't do it ATM..

Slightly surreal chat about talking sheep? Yes,can still cope with that...
Actual proper thought about AIBUs (or indeed anything else,as far as I can tell Smile)? Nooooo.I'm hoping it's the weather and that normal service will be resumed soon...

Is there any chocolate? Or cake? I can still do snacking...
(Hope everyone else is ok out there!)

MCP!

CJCregg · 06/11/2010 11:24

Hey Pogle!

Cake and hot chocolate with whipped cream, how does that sound? And if we drift shorewards tonight, there should be fireworks too.

I quite like this other guy now. Thought he was a bit of an idiot at first, what with that business with the sheets, but it was quite funny. And what do I want with a poncey artist anyway? Especially one with a stupid French name!

OP posts:
ElephantsAndMiasmas · 06/11/2010 13:56

ooh helloooooo! hot chocolate you say

I have no idea about yours, although I think YANBU - snogging in taxis is compulsory after parties IMVHO

hey, hey - I read a book!

AIBU to think this parish is going to the dogs?

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 06/11/2010 13:57

oh and - can't stand to see lip wobble in any of my comraftriots.

Pogleswood · 06/11/2010 14:06

Cake and hot chocolate with whipped cream? Sounds wonderful!

I love fireworks...

MCP both...

Pogleswood · 06/11/2010 14:10

Oh,while I'm here - cuddles? Cuddles? This is MN,you know - couldn't you at least have made it "non-MN cuddles"? Grin

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 06/11/2010 14:18

It's a reflex Pogle :) Any sign of lip wobble and I spontaneously make a "awwwwww" noise and leap (gazelle-like of course) across to the affected wobbler and start tousling them, picking them up and making funny faces.

God knows how bad it'll be when I actually have kids of my own :o

...the priest is clearly losing it, and goings on are stranger even than usual...
