AIBU Books Game Part Seven

Hi all, here we are again ...

As always, everyone welcome to pile in with AIBU book synopses, as long as you bring ice cream or something equally tempting for when we're stuck.

To continue mine - I'm in charge but it's terribly difficult to keep control. I don't know how long I can keep their respect. I didn't ask to be in charge ...

OP posts:
EvilAntsAndMiasmas · 20/10/2010 17:09

Ha I really have no idea in that case and my googliing is a bit shit

...Also I don't think my mother is particularly keen on me, she was happy to stick at two children...

llandb · 20/10/2010 23:14

Pogleswooooo (have to count the Os :)) and EvilAnts, thanks for condolences - worse for the friend who adopted him; I expect a 50-year-old bloke does not cry at the vet :(

Pogle yours sounds suspiciously like something that involves baby-switching and concealed gunpowder, but I don't think the details fit.

So, MCP (off to paddle up to fjord to gather some lichen for Pointless)

chiLLANDBurn · 20/10/2010 23:28

Oooooooo smileys with hats [hsmile]

CJsSeveredHead · 21/10/2010 09:31

Evilphants, when you are born will you live Above the Shop?

EvilAntsAndMiasmas · 21/10/2010 11:00

Yes I will indeeeed CJ, no more internal somersaulting and wry commentary on my soon-to-be family once I'm having to deal with them daily...

Would you like a ghostly Roman soldier? Or a mysterious framed photo of your ancestors?

CJsSeveredHead · 21/10/2010 11:40

Can I be a bridesmaid at a wedding on the day of the 1966 World Cup?!

My favourite book EVER.

Can't think of any new ones ... will have to go and inspect the tottering piles.

EvilAntsAndMiasmas · 21/10/2010 12:06

It is mine too, CJ Grin

AIBU to think the new girl is terribly disruptive?

CJsSeveredHead · 21/10/2010 14:56
EvilAntsAndMiasmas · 21/10/2010 15:08

No, she's English - and to be fair she is officially a member of staff, just a very young one...

CJsSeveredHead · 22/10/2010 10:25

Hmmm. No idea.

Is she full of progressive ideas? Is she behaving inappropriately with sixth formers?

MCP ...

(Btw, stayed up far too late last night having decided to reread Behind the Scenes - bloody loved it though [hgrin])

EvilAntsAndMiasmas · 22/10/2010 10:57

Did you read the whole thing last night? Shock

...Progressive? Pah! Retrogressive more like. She seems to really look down on the curriculum, and the wholesome food...

CJsSeveredHead · 22/10/2010 12:46

No, not the whole thing! Although it's so long since I've read it, I could have done ... but was knackered! But it still kept me up for at least an hour longer.

Hmmm ... still baffled. Does she teach a particular subject?

CJsSeveredHead · 24/10/2010 16:36

Baa.

Anyone around?

llandb · 24/10/2010 23:07

Baa back at ya :)

Paddling.

EvilAntsAndMiasmas · 25/10/2010 10:49

me! I'm here - been at the feminist conference this weekend (RL not in book :))

...She's not a teacher, she's far too conservative for that. She seems to look sideways at the eurythmics classes and is leading the children back into the dark ages by swimming in a swimming costume Shock

Is anyone else still doing one?

llandb · 27/10/2010 00:58

NIMCP

EvilAntsAndMiasmas · 27/10/2010 08:50

llandb!!! Are you doing one? Moomin? CJ? Pogle?

...and Marek our handyman seems to be rather distracted from his tasks. When he's not off on one of his mysterious missions into the woods of course...

CJsSeveredHead · 27/10/2010 11:08

Aha!

A wild stab in the dark [hgrin] - are you at Hallendorf, and is he also the fencing master?

WHAT a funny looking book ...

Ok. I have been very remiss on the AIBU front lately.

AIBU to want to read a book?

EvilAntsAndMiasmas · 27/10/2010 11:22

Hoorah for CJ!!!! Yes he is the rather handsome jack of all trades/secret composer/stork wrangler. It is a great book IMO :o

Have some freshly baked rolls with no added bran.

YANeverBU to want to read a book - has someone forbidden it to you?

CJsSeveredHead · 27/10/2010 15:59

No, it's just that apparently it's someone else's turn Grin

CJsSeveredHead · 28/10/2010 14:56
Pogleswooooo · 28/10/2010 16:59

Hello! I am here - sort of...

Do you (all) only have the one book,CJ?

Can I not persuade anyone to google my beautifully googlable last AIBU?? No?
...They want me to become an angel, which is rather surprising - angelic is not a word that'd have been used about me in the past!...

EvilAntsAndMiasmas · 29/10/2010 10:32

me too! NI on either of them - my googling has obviously gone downhill.

Pogleswooooo · 29/10/2010 13:56
Grin

Did you have a fantastic time at the conference then? I suppose I should be asking you that somewhere else really, but never mind!

EvilAntsAndMiasmas · 29/10/2010 14:14

Oh yes it was GREAT :o Really inspiring, I learnt a lot and met lots of MNers which was lovely.

Haven't read a book for ages though...hence the perplexity on here!
