Probably I am. But I LOVE that song and found the ad very moving (and I love JL too so was very pleased it wasn't for tampax or something else). Sad but true!

No - I thought it was just me. The music caught my attention, wasn't sure what I was watching but it really made me cry. Glad I'm not alone.

janeite · 27/04/2010 22:10

Sorry but yes, yabu. And there are already several threads on it. And the music is crap! And I am clearly cold-hearted...

janeite · 27/04/2010 22:11

Oh and why does she look so vacant in school and when blowing out the candles? And so smug when kissing boyfriend and new hubby?

Meglet · 27/04/2010 22:11

yanbu. I was blubbing too.

I only just saw it for the first time and guessed what it was from seeing the recent MN threads on it.

Shaz10 · 27/04/2010 22:12

janeite you and I are in the freezer...

dolphin13 · 27/04/2010 22:12

awww I love it

Arkala · 27/04/2010 22:13

Hope it runs for a while, I do love the chance for a little weep in the ad breaks!

sorry hadn't realised there are other threads on it, obviously great minds think alike!

I posted this the other day and everyone ignored me.

B'stards!

mejon · 27/04/2010 22:24

I'm with Janeite - first time I saw it I thought it was going to be an ad for someone like Norwich Union. I find it quite sickening tbh!

Kismet2010 · 27/04/2010 22:33

Great add, but a bit wasted on a Department Store, would have worked well for loads of other things, like cancer research.

Monty100 · 27/04/2010 22:41

It made me feel really sad . It made life seem so short, I could have wept for that reason.

Perhaps I need to see my GP .

Anyone else feel like that?

hormonesnomore · 27/04/2010 22:45

Yes Monty, I thought that too & it's how I'm feeling about my life at the moment. Time goes so quickly and seems to speed up with every day that passes. I like the ad but the wigs are a bit rubbish

catinboots · 27/04/2010 22:47

I cried too!

It makes me feel queasy, is so naff

Monty100 · 27/04/2010 22:55

Hormones - (lol at name) phew! It's just been on again this minute. Yes definitely makes me feel really sad and vulnerable. Time is flying for me, whatever is going on?? What is that about, age??

Wigs are rubbish .

SquirtsMum · 27/04/2010 23:02

Pregnant and v emotional (39wks) so DP has now taken to switching channels when this ad comes on as he found me sobbing the first time I saw it

Fyfe Dangerfield has a lovely voice - think thsts what gets me

xxx

SuSylvester · 27/04/2010 23:03

we had htis very same thread title last week

porcamiseria · 28/04/2010 09:06

I am ashamaed to say I got a bit teary too! Its the whole birth to old thing, I am PG so I blame that

BusyMissIzzy · 28/04/2010 09:19

Made me well up too. I have a 7 week old DD and it made me think of her growing up..

BusyMissIzzy · 28/04/2010 09:21

Actually, just had a thought; did they steal the idea from UP (Pixar film)? The bit where the couple grow old together.. I watched that in the cinema at about 20 weeks pg and was absolutely in bits, proper tears streaming down my face

HeadlessLadyH · 28/04/2010 09:22

Me too. Am 9 weeks pg though so verrrrrry emotional right now.Had to hold the tears in as was with the (rather unemotional) ILs at the time.

Poshpaws · 28/04/2010 09:23

I agree with dittany, actually. Used to love this song when Billy Joel sang it when I was a child, but since hearing it on the advert, I was thinking 'These lyrics do not sound exactly pro-women'.

Also agree with Monty at the feelings of sadness and vunerability.
