good for you congratulations on your grandson!
I doubt people will come to this thread though - if you want advice you tend to start your own. Best to go to the topics where you think you can contribute and reply to some threads.

Your 38 and use text speak

My mum had us when she was young also, and does not use text speak, and shes only 45.

But welcome.

A wise (wo)man knows that they will never have done it all, or know it all.

But if you know how to get my 6mo daughter to sleep through the night without leaving her to cry, please share

Scrudd · 23/03/2010 15:30

Do you know how I could guarantee that I get the job I have an interview for next week?

SPBInDisguise · 23/03/2010 15:31

easy - perfect the £20 note handshake

BetsyLittleson · 23/03/2010 15:31

Do you know how I can stop my 18 month old son screaming like he's being harmed in some way when I take my older two into preschool?

Or do you know any clever things I can say to the mothers/grandmothers who tut and roll their eyes?

SPBInDisguise · 23/03/2010 15:32

seriously - good luck

WhoIsAsking · 23/03/2010 15:35

I saw a child who was about 4 with a spider's web cut into his hair earlier. I thought that was kind of awful, and then I thought, I bet he's really into Spiderman and that's why his mum has let him have it. What do you think?

Welcome - and yeah, don't do the text speak thing, it's really hard to read!

Scrudd · 23/03/2010 15:35

thanks SPB!

It's a shame it's two women interviewing me, otherwise I could have used the push up bra technique.

I shall have to settle for the £20 handshake, and a packet of biscuits instead

Morloth · 23/03/2010 15:36

Could you let me know how to bring on labour in a way that doesn't involve:

  1. Sex
  2. Pineapple
  3. Spicy food
  4. Raspberry leaf
  5. Walking
  6. Castor Oil
  7. Actual induction

For my family's sake.

SPBInDisguise · 23/03/2010 15:36

morloth, book something important or expensive for 2 days time

Sassybeast · 23/03/2010 15:37

How can I get my kids to eat green things which aren't snot ?

Thanks.

LynetteScavo · 23/03/2010 15:39

cookiejo, as you are so knowledgeable, please could you help me with a problem I am currently having.

My children have different preferences when it comes to food. It seems that no matter what I cook someone won't like it. Can you please sugest a meal that every member of my family will eat. But not macaroni cheese, because I'm getting fed up of it.

Oh, and if you could avoid text speak, as I find it really hard to read.

WhoIsAsking · 23/03/2010 15:41

ME MISS! I know this one Morloth!

Oil of evening primrose capsule (you know, those gel type ones) up your mimsy can soften the cervix.

(Oh and sex)

MiladyDeWinter · 23/03/2010 15:41

What do you think about the latest weaning guidelines?

Morloth · 23/03/2010 15:43

Off to find bottle of evening primrose oil capsules.

NOT having sex again. Yuck. (ever maybe)

SPBInDisguise · 23/03/2010 15:44

wheres the op

MillyR · 23/03/2010 15:44

How can I get my otherwise reasonably competent DS to use capital letters on proper nouns? The other day he forged my signature on a school form and used a lower case R on my last name.

Sassybeast · 23/03/2010 15:44

Walking on castor oil whilst simulating sex with a pineapple might be worth a try ?

Scrudd · 23/03/2010 15:44

Yeah, where did she go?! I am waiting with baited breath for her bottomless pool of knowledge!
