I have been a poster here for seven years, my first post was asking for help after a DX on DS1 regarding medication, I was overwhelmed by the amount of people who took the time to respond and give advice and share stories.
I remember there being a lot of jokes and support, one poster who lost family in 9/11 was an inspiration and at any time day or night there was someone about for a chat, it made night feed more fun.

Yes there were times when people "fell out" this is life, and the odd nut job who tried to convince people that 4 times the amount of calpol was safe but on the whole it was a nice place to be, however just lately (mostly since AIBU was added) it seems people are getting really nasty.

No longer can you have a good debate with out the usual stupidness and name calling, if you question immigration there is no debate you just get called racist, people with problems get called troll, the term Jog on is used daily as is daily mail reader, and I ask myself when did this site become a playground with the childish name calling, where are all the grown up, funny, articulate women who you could have a grown up discussions with.

It is so boring seeing the same old faces spouting the same old crap lines.

I guess someone will say if I don't like it leave, and I just might do that as mumsnet is not the place it was

OP, YANBU.

It's a sorry, sorry state of affairs when one can't even mention immigration or wear a white hood or even set a cross mounted on the lawn alight whilst misquoting large tracts of the Bible without being accused of being racist.

It's PC gone mad, it really is.

Quattrocento · 22/03/2010 22:03

ROFL

I feel sure that I could be persuaded out of any lynching that I might be about to undertake if only some people here would engage with me constructively rather than branding me a racist.

OrmRenewed · 22/03/2010 22:06

Oh dear! Has someone been being nasty to racists again? Tut!

SpringHeeledJack · 22/03/2010 22:11

I'm starting to feel a bit sorry for the racists and homophobes being persecuted on here

...are they all going to flounce, do you think?

tethersend · 22/03/2010 22:18

Some of my best friends are racists.

SpringHeeledJack · 22/03/2010 22:21

oldenglishspangles · 22/03/2010 22:51

Is Daftpunk really a member of the BNP or is that a joke?

NickGriffinBMP · 22/03/2010 22:52

Yea

NickGriffinBMP · 22/03/2010 22:53

She loves my wonky eye

Quattrocento · 22/03/2010 22:55

Surely if the freckled ones were born here, it would be okay to let them stay? Or maybe they could stay if they consented to be sterilised and thereby not pass on the freckle-gene? Worth thinking about.

No joke, DP is a fully paid up member of the BNP and I have teased her online. See how broadminded I am. Mind you, she's clearly got the attention span of a gnat, so I wouldn't worry about it too much ...

justsue · 22/03/2010 22:55
