As before, we frame an AIBU from the point of view of a character in a book and everyone tries to guess the book and/or the character.

btw is it a discworld novel where there is a tribe of goats who are all called after their job eg goat who is watcher, except the final one who is "goat who is just called goat" 15+ years since i read that and it still tickles me!

I just read the End of Mr Y as well - quite startling! In fact I think I read it too fast because I was desperate to see what happened, I might have to read it again more slowly at some point to try and get some of the theories to sink in...

It doesn't help that all I'm reading at the moment seems to be trashy fantasy and I'm too ashamed to do any of those

Actually I don't read trashy fantasy either - it has to be well written with a gripping plot and deep insights into the human condition...well,well written anyway...(Is there a "who are you trying to kid" emoticon??)

Have you been leading a drudges life,and recently been rescued from this? If so,really this is just how things are on your world and you'll have to get used to it,but I think you'll find your partner grows on you - doesn't work for everyone though..
