To find it a bit odd when people go through several prams in the space of a few months?

chequersandroastedchestnuts · 02/12/2008 09:42

I sometimes read posts on here from 'pram addicts' who despite having only one or two childrem have had several different prams and pushchairs.

I just read a pushchair review on another site that said: 'So far since my 9 month old son's birth I've had a Micralite fastfold, 2 quinny zapps, a fisher price safe voyager, a loola and this quest sport.'

Does that sound like overkill to anyone else?

Sorry if I offend anyone and I'm sure I'll be told if that's the case but I just don't get why you would need to keep changing prams?

and i find it deeply upsetting that people openly bully on a forum i will hide thread

bran · 03/12/2008 19:18

Off topic, but snigger at "which is not only very rude it is also not very nice". I'm struggling to think of rude comments that are also nice.

chequersandroastedchestnuts · 03/12/2008 19:19

Oh my god this thread has gone a bit awry hasn't it?

OP posts:
chequersandroastedchestnuts · 03/12/2008 19:20

(apologies to anyone offended by my blasphemy!)

OP posts:
YouNeverKnowIMightFlounce · 03/12/2008 19:20

it would have been fine had some not been so bloody rude

nicolamumof3 · 03/12/2008 19:21

I think this thread is horrible, enough is enough. so what if i've got/had/want 1, 10 or 100 prams, what does it matter?

She sounds like a nutter.

Pram huns are weirdos, who cares if its offensive - it's true.

By breadandroses on Tue 02-Dec-08 09:44:21
Cos they are nobs

Salivating over Quinny Zaps and BugaBoos - sad.

YouNeverKnowIMightFlounce · 03/12/2008 19:27

pram addicts deserve sympathy. it is an expression of trauma and discontent. they think the perfect pram/buggy whatever will Make Everything Great. they are desperate to get control over SOMETHING.

lisad123 · 03/12/2008 19:46

wow what a lovely bunch of ladies we have on MN
People are struggling to pay to keep roof over their heads, people being murdered, being abused ect, but hey let bully some ladies who happen to like collecting prams rather than shoes, coats and bags!!
Its no ones bussiness and tbh, why the hell would it bother you?? Is it because somethings missing in your life?? I nice pram maybe

chequersandroastedchestnuts · 03/12/2008 19:46

I know there have been some rude names and expression on here but can I just say, "pram envy" is now one of my all-time favourite expressions.

OP posts:
pushchair · 03/12/2008 19:46

What will it take to make you flounce then?

Otherwise, this is a very odd thread now.

chequersandroastedchestnuts · 03/12/2008 19:48

Lisa, quite right, a bad does of pram envy I think.

OP posts:
pushchair · 03/12/2008 19:49

chequersandroastedchestnuts · 03/12/2008 19:49

OP posts:
pushchair · 03/12/2008 20:00

YouNeverKnowIMightFlounce on Wed 03-Dec-08 19:12:48 i find some of your views on here fu**ing offensive that one

babyjjbaby · 03/12/2008 20:08

i think this thread is stupid now if people like me want alot of prams so what its not hurting anyone and what we do with our money is up to us i couldn't give a toss what other people think if i had one or 50 prams at one time i bet if i wasted my money on fags and was killing myself by smoking noone would batter a eyelid i think alot of people on this thread are rude arrogant and bullys mumsnet is sposed to be nice

chequersandroastedchestnuts · 03/12/2008 20:14

Why you reporting that one pushchair?

You are allowed to swear on here, even without asterisks.

lol how silly is this thread????

Am Loving Pram Envy

I have more than enough prams but it doesn't stop me looking for others or at others....now who is selling prams or swapping them?

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 03/12/2008 21:03

This thread was always going to end in tears.

hollyandnoah · 03/12/2008 21:56

waw i just found this thread.
lol.
Pram Huns, what?
I always thought 'hun' was an offensive term used against prodestands and Rangers fans. I could be totally wrong though. Doesn't seem too nice anyway!

I do like a bit of pram shopping myself, as well as bag shopping, shoe shopping, any kind of shopping!
Ds is 11 months and i actually don't know how many prams and buggies i have had.
But i do have to say, I have a SX pram, over 30 years old, and it is in perfect condition, much better than the one i bought brand new in December for my ds.

I don't drive, but i can understand why someone would want a new car before theirs knackers on them. And we don't wear clothes untill they are falling off us and full of holes.

Ahh well! Each to their own eh :P

jingleMAMADIVAsbells · 04/12/2008 00:56

Bang on the mark hollyandnoah I am apparently a hun, I am a Rangers fan and a protestant well I am not religious but I was baptised one anyway.

In Glasgow thats what it means anyways.

So we are Pram-rangers fan-proddies then?!?

I do have pram envy I want a new blardy on, I want to be able to afford the fancy Maclaren so I can go on buses!!!

This thrad is rediculous aint it? Ach well if you have nothing better to do then maybe... it is fun.

Ashantai · 04/12/2008 01:28

Well this thread has given me a giggle
I had the same travel system for all 3 of my kids (mainly cos my OH kept saying "but its perfectly fine") Damn Britax for making their pushchairs so sturdy!!

I work in a baby department, the pushchairs are all on display, and unlike some stores, we dont chain them up so that customers can have a good old play around with them. We let them take them to their cars to make sure the carseats fit and the pushchairs fit in their car boots.

Why then do we always get people who want to return them, cos "its too difficult to collapse" or "it wont fit in my aunties carboot", or my personal fav, "i've gone off it" ARF!!

TS!! its not a bloody pram library, what the hell are we supposed to do with a pushchair thats been obviously used???

Frankly i love it when we get customers who have multiple pram syndrome, hey its their money and they can do what they choose with it

WewishyouaBUMPERLICIOUS · 04/12/2008 10:22

Some of you clean oil and hoover your pushchairs every week my Quinny Buzz (which I love, was a joint present from mum and dad and has done us for 18 mo so far, except for the umbrella buggy for when we go away with a car full of crap!) is in a bit of a state, I must do something about it. There are raisins in all the folds and the bar across it gets filthy from DD eating .

I do find the obsession with buggies strange, but you could say that about anything really. Tis less pointless than stamp collecting or painting die cast models soldiers.

YouNeverKnowIMightFlounce · 04/12/2008 10:57

report me all you like PUSHCHAIR couldnt care less what you think when alot of posts on here have been far far worse than sayiong what i feel.

other than that my username has not changed for about a yr now you do not know me and have no idea about me this thread is damn offensive go stir your s**t elsewhere

last time i looked swearing on this thread was no a no go

good old mn comes up trumps each time!

as for using the word hun its different for everyone i have always used it in my family and daily life and will continue to use it not just because a jumped up few bored women have nothing else to start a thread about

WifeandMotherof4 · 04/12/2008 11:11

Is this a class issue? Do people with lots of money buy lots of pushchairs or is their money spent on other things???
