To not be able to like Traitors?

Traitor8er · Yesterday 09:17

I can't be alone surely? Tried to watch as there's some interesting people in series 2. I didn't watch 1st series. Maybe that's the issue?
I just couldn't see the appeal?
It's obviously massive.

Should I keep watching as otherwise I'm missing a fantastic series?

I dont understand The Traitors the celebrity version is funny and ridiculous, I still dont understand what is going on and would never watch the regular programme, I also agree it is over hyped. , you don't have to keep trying to watch it if you are not into it.

BeardySchnauzer · Yesterday 09:23

Yeah I tried to watch a few and never really got into it

it feels like it thinks it’s cleverer than it is somehow. A bit like Sherlock.

CasperGutman · Yesterday 09:25

YANBU not to like it. You like what you like, I suppose.

I love it myself though. At heart it's a very simple parlour game, like a slightly more complicated version of wink murder. It's just that the contestants live within the game for an extended period, so they get really invested in it and have the time and space to massively overthink everything, with fascinating and/or hilarious results.

Whatafustercluck · Yesterday 09:27

I absolutely love it! But of course you're not unreasonable - you like what you like.

BeardySchnauzer · Yesterday 09:31

I guess it also comes down to the characters playing it so maybe a different set of players would make me enjoy it more

i know no one is allowed to say this but I’m also not a fan of Claudia’s!

Shedmistress · Yesterday 09:33

You don't have to like everything everyone else likes.

But you just said it? So people can say it.

Consultationbroom · Yesterday 09:37

It won’t be for everyone. Personally, I absolutely love it. The only TV programme I make a point of watching when it’s actually broadcast. The format will no doubt run its course and jump the shark in future but at the moment it’s as good as ever.

Megifer · Yesterday 09:38

I loved season 1. Struggled to get into this one but its better now Bella has gone, she really annoyed me.

Ross kemp was so funny when he thought he kept being murdered in plain sight 🤣

I’m waiting to be deleted🤣

I didn't/don't like Only Fools and Horses, probably the most unfunny thing to come on TV, I get the most appalling, nasty comments from a lot of people! Water off a duck's back to me.

I liked Bella but I was never sure why they treated her like some kind of genius. She made some good points but was no better than any other player.

Bella uses they / them pronouns

Autumnishere1 · Yesterday 09:47

I assume you are talking about the celebrity version, and not The Traitors for everyday people?

I prefer the normal version as half of celebrities know each other.. season 2 of the Traitors (not the celeb version) was my favorite.

MrsShawnHatosy · Yesterday 09:47

I neither like nor dislike it, have just never watched it. Don’t feel I’m missing out.

I guess it’s a good strategy to ensure she was in the firing line

do the celebs get paid the same regardless of screentime?

MickyMoonshine · Yesterday 09:50

Why would it be unreasonable? If you don’t like it, then you don’t like it.
You’re allowed an opinion!

If you’re not a South London cockney I get that but if you are it’s spot on x

Yes, exactly. And when it’s celebrities, there’s something amusing about people you’d imagine being good at staying in character because they’re actors, really struggling with controlling their facial expressions, or stand-up comedians who are used to solo performances, working a crowd and dealing with hecklers etc completely losing it under pressure.

Plus there’s something basically hilarious about watching someone you last saw playing Aneurin Bevan or Tony Blair or Hamlet freaking out in a cabin among dozens of wedding dresses or singing ‘Ring! Ring! Ring!’ in a wood while holiding hands with Romesh Ranganethan.

I am a bit meh about Claudia I do like how she is very camp on the Traitors but I am not a fan girl.

Does she aye.

I like it for what it is, easy watching that my teens will also engage with and we can chat about.
