To not be able to like Traitors?

I can't be alone surely? Tried to watch as there's some interesting people in series 2. I didn't watch 1st series. Maybe that's the issue?
I just couldn't see the appeal?
It's obviously massive.

Should I keep watching as otherwise I'm missing a fantastic series?

Great thanks. Them was shit in it.

Them were? 🤷🏽‍♀️

I enjoy it. I did watch the Irish traitors last year and couldn’t get in with it at all. The contestants were so nasty to each other. Each to their own.

I haven't seen the celebrity version, but the normal version is awful the way they eliminate a brown or Muslim person first nearly every single time. It really shows people's deep seated prejudices. You could tell Claudia was fucked off with the contestants for doing it.

Actually I read that even in the last celebrity version an Asian man was voted off.

What the hell is wrong with these people?!

Nick Mohammed the "Asian man" was in the final last year alongside another brown but non Asian man and 2 white men I don't really follow the regular version to comment,

Livpool · Yesterday 10:36

I am watching the current celebrity version. I wouldn’t watch the regular version.

Not everyone likes the same things. I personally enjoy it.

Good for her.

Bella uses they / them pronouns

Bella seems quite relaxed about pronouns actually Bella Ramsey explains why sharing their pronouns publicly was 'stressful' - Capital

Bella said: "I've never been strict about 'they/them', because I think I just don't really care. Also, I'm very comfortable in who I am. I know how important it is for other people, but for me it's not as important right now."

Clarifying their pronouns ,,Bella said: "Whatever you fancy, really!"
"A lot of people call me 'they', some people call me 'she', occasionally I get a 'he'. And sort of whatever, I'm pretty chill about it all – for now. Maybe that'll change, but for now."

I CBA with the civilian version, but I do find the celebrity one fairly watchable. I do record it and watch it the next day though, but I do find myself fast forwarding through the tasks/challenges/games, as they tend to go on a bit!

I watch it, but wouldn't cry if it was never shown again after this year, and I do think it's a bit over-hyped, and there's a bit of Emperor's New Clothes going on with it.

Yes, I prefer it to the general public one, too. I like that the stakes are way lower, because they’re playing for charity, not a sum of money that would be life-changing for many of the non-celebrity contestants — to me that adds an edge of desperation I feel uncomfortable with. And obviously there’s a real disappointment to the victims of banishments and murders, who have lost out on a chance to win a potentially life-changing cash prize.

No, I don't actually like the general public one. I prefer the Celebrity one.

I assume you are talking about the celebrity version, and not The Traitors for everyday people?

I prefer the normal version as half of celebrities know each other.. season 2 of the Traitors (not the celeb version) was my favorite.

I prefer the Celebrity version, because there are already connections between those involved it dispenses with a couple of more of episodes of getting to know each other, being on their best behaviour. Having said that I don't think the current version is as good as the first one.

Clonakilla · Yesterday 10:45

I enjoy the highlights. Haven’t watched a full show to date.

But even the highest-rating show has many more people not watching it than watching it. Surely nobody thinks they’re alone in disliking any show at all? I certainly wouldn’t persevere with a show I didn’t enjoy.

Tcateh · Yesterday 10:46

The American one, same castle is infinitely more entertaining.
Alan Cumming is an amazing host compared to Claudia

Freda69 · Yesterday 10:47

I watched 5 minutes and thought it was garbage, but I hate all celebrity reality programmes, especially the Jungle one.

Happyjoe · Yesterday 10:47

Never watched any as honestly, all reality TV leaves me cold. But to be fair, I hardly ever put the telly on as more likely to be wasting my time online, such as MN. Each to their own!

I’m laughing so hard at this comment that DH has come to ask if I am ok.

BobbleBear · Yesterday 10:50

Cheap crap TV. Why bother?

Anything that’s vaguely Reality TV doesn’t get watched in this house. I’ve no time for such pointless nonsense and I only watch TV from about 8-10pm so I want a decent who dunnit with a proper storyline and good characters.

Bella uses they / them pronouns

She also says she’s not bothered if people don’t use them/get mixed up. She’s not offended. Don’t try to start an argument on her behalf.

I didn't/don't like Only Fools and Horses, probably the most unfunny thing to come on TV, I get the most appalling, nasty comments from a lot of people! Water off a duck's back to me.

OH GOD, I loathed that. Watched a few minutes. Also loathed Ello Ello, Last of the Summer Wine, Gavin and Stacey and Mrs Brown's Boys.

You don't have to like everything everyone else likes.

Exactly.

That is the beauty of TV in the age of multiple streaming services. You don't have to watch or like what other people watch.

There wasn't an "Asian man" voted off in the last celebrity version and the last 3 standing included Nick Mohammed and David Olusoga.

I don't watch the celeb version. I was referring to below. But how interesting that that's all you took from my post.

The first Celebrity Traitors was excellent - Alan Carr was hilarious being a traitor and made the show. This second Celebrity series feels flat in comparison, I have lost interest already and gave up watching it when they did the spooky hut task. It was all so hammy and cheesy but not in a good way.

I will watch the normal Traitors again and will try another Celebrity Traitor series but not this one. Claudia-patra (as Jerry Hall called her) annoys me a bit as well.

I also said I don't watch it. The article from Amol Rajan is from 5 days ago so I assumed that was the last celebrity version.
