To absolutely hate this government, and what they are doing to our country? PART 2

CoventryCity · Yesterday 10:14

A continuation of Thread 1.

Strong words but is is how I feel at this point in time. All of them make me feel physically sick. Why? Well many reasons.. Here are just two.

Eg. They won't release sex crime statistics of immigrants / asylum seekers. Why? Other European countries have done, and it is not pretty. Our gvt gives out a leaflet asking them not to rape the locals. Why? Our gvt has said they won't house asylum seekers next to schools and nurseries, why?

Eg. UK now spends more on benefits than it earns in income tax. Labour have increased this - not reduced it. Astonishing. As they say - "Who can we tax in order to pay benefits to others?" That's Labour's Welfare Secretary. He's describing the priorities of Labour MPs.

In the last financial year, the UK government brought in £331 billion in income tax — and spent even more, £333 billion, on welfare, according to the Office for Budget Responsibility's latest economic and fiscal outlook (obr.uk/efo/economic-and-fiscal-outlook-march-2026/#chapter-6).

The thing is with the Tories their first instinct isn't to raise taxes. When it has to be done it's a last resort. They don't want to do it. It's in Labour's DNA to tax those that work hard and then give it to shirkers.

From Germany - since Labour is blocking UK data.

'Violence against women is experienced by all ages and social classes, all races, religions and nationalities. It is estimated that at least one in three women were subjected to some type of inter-personal violence over their life time (UN Security Council Resolution 1820). The European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights found that in EU one in 10 women experienced some form of sexual violence since the age of 15 and, one in 20 has been raped. This article seeks to find out the role of media on portraying the reports of violence against women in Germany which are carried out by men with immigrant background.'

'The primary interpretation can be made in such a way that there is an alarming increase in violence against women by certain group of men with immigrant background in Germany despite of the fact that German mass media tries to obscure such reports while the international newspaper do not try to hide. The lack of successful integration of refugees can be identified as a big barrier to prevent such incidences and minimal punishment for crimes against women should be evaluated and modified by respective governance bodies for preventing such incidences.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.5755/j01.eis.0.11.18957'

I haven’t been particularly impressed but not unimpressed. I genuinely cannot bear another 5-10 years of discussing brexit though so if rejoining is in the next manifesto (I assume not another referendum) then I’ll vote anyone else

im really really sick and tired of having to read about how everything wrong with the country is due to brexit and how thankfully many brexiters have died and how everything will be better when we rejoin

how embarrassing that our government class don’t actually want to govern the country and would rather just rejoin the EU for their laws to become ours
lazt, uninspiring and pathetic

Yes 100%. As Sunak said too - it's in their DNA.

Imagine a kid going for their first Saturday job. Working 10 hours, being paid 100GBP . Then being told Now we're going to give 50 GBP that you've earned to that kid over there. But he didn't do any work, he said he didn't want to. I earned that money! Ah yes but he should still be paid, it's only fair. Oh well next time I am not working either, and I will get 50GBP for nothing! What a deal.

I agree with you on the Brexit point.

Tories left us with the highest taxes since the war, but OK…
your analogy doesn’t work. First of all, nobody on their first job pays 50% in total in tax. In fact apart from a few edge cases nobody gets near that. There are loads of other reasons it’s rubbish (not least that it’s borrowed form a silly meme about socialism which gets roundly debunked every time someone posts it).

The tax burden is higher now.

What does that imaginary scenario have to do with real life though? I mean, imagine aliens descending and stealing all of our hens... I can imagine that, but should I also start stockpiling eggs?

Ah, the utterly banal and entirely meaningless "benefits higher than income tax" whine. Not seen that one for a couple of weeks.

Don't you mean, "Of the £100, we are going to take £20. £18 of which we will use for things you need or may need in the future, such as your education, a doctor if you need one, etc. £2* of which will go to a person who doesn't work."?
If you like, you can complain that the £2 out of a hundred is unfair. The exaggeration and hyperbole weakens your point.

*The amount that goes to people judged capable of work but unemployed.

That debt servicing though, pretty high. It could fund other stuff. They’re £8bn over.

There are millions of people not working that could. It's not as though it is a rarity. There are also people doing 16 hours a week and then topped up by taxpayers money. Someone works Monday & Tuesday while someone else works 5 days a week, pays to support someone sat watching TV Weds, Thurs and Friday! You couldn't make it up!

Because we HAD to pay for lockdown somehow what do you expect? Labour hated the unlockings and wanted more delays

1 in 5 working age adults are claiming UC. Benefits are why immigrants flood in. Scrap UC, and they won't come because they couldn't afford to live here.

Are there? How many? And how do you know this? What studies have been conducted to identify them and seperate them from those who genuinely can't work? And to seperate those who are not working because they 'don't want to' from those claiming because they've been made redundant say, and are temporarily out of work?
I disagree you 'couldn't make it up' because in the absence of this data, it kind of suggests you may have done.

Seems quite sensible to not release figures that would be used to divide society & fuel hate, especially as a result of demands by racists & far right.

Extremists on all sides can manipulate data to fit their narrative.

Virtually all rapes & serious sexual assaults are committed by men. Men are the risk. The overwhelming majority are also British.

The biggest risk to women both in terms of homicide, serious assault & rape are partners/ex partners.

Stop hijacking women's safety to fuel your agenda

Labour still might have to, if they lose the appeal.

I thought you can't get benefits as an immigrant until you get ILR

You can't. Asylum seekers and refugees aren't eligible for out of work benefits.

If the data is to the contrary then that proves the "haters" wrong.

Per capita is a thing. If domestic intimate partner violence is a thing, let's tackle that issue and not bring in men who have a risk of doing stranger attacks on women.
