Strong words but is is how I feel at this point in time. All of them make me feel physically sick. The latest example -

The 14 years of the Tories were so depressing. I could see the country heading in the wrong direction - public services including the NHS, social services, the justice system and the police were being robbed blind and the money was being siphoned off by Tories and their donors - a particularly good wheeze if you were in the business of providing faulty PPE and disposing of it.

And yet, people voted them in again and again, even when Boris Johnson was partying during lockdown, but ordinary people weren't allowed to visit their dying relatives in hospital or invite more than a handful of people to their funerals. And the less said about Brexit, the better.

The country has been left in a shit state and Labour have the unenviable job of trying to rebuild its public services. I hope they succeed as no one else (other than the Lib Dems) would do it, either because they can't or because they don't want to.

That is a policy of the Lib Dems I can't support. It's such a shame. Our Lib Dem MP genuinely cares about the run-down maternity department of our local hospital and the fact that water pours through parts of the leaky roof, but I doubt he'll stand up for women's rights in today's vote. We shall see.

I did hear someone say that Hamas have a written charter, calling for the death of all Jews and the total destruction of Israel. Apparently it also says that anyone who isn't Muslim, is an infidel (non believer) and they shouldn't exist either? I thought that's weird because isn't that genocide? But no one is loudly accusing Hamas of wanting genocide, so is the written charter theory true? Really weird. I shall have to read up more about it.

What do you actually mean by “number of asylum seekers”? New asylum claims, small-boat arrivals, people receiving asylum support and the asylum backlog are all different measures, and they haven’t all moved in the same direction. You can’t just lump them together and say the number has “increased significantly every year”.
