the articles are about numbers of disabled people in constituencies. It’s implied (but not stated) that the reason Labour mps will not cut pip is because all the people on pip will vote them out.

b people on pip vote in a number of ways not all of them Labour
c Labour mps have generally come into office to help the poor and disabled and cutting pip isn’t part of what they want to do.

It's not news that people on benefits are more likely to vote Labour and pensioners to vote conservative.

If you don't understand that Brexit plus various wars plus COVID emergency spending plus years and years of austerity is what has significantly damaged our country then you haven't been paying attention.

The economist Richard J Murphy has estimated there is a tax gap.

Companies which shut down in the first year of trading have their tax liabilities end with them. They don't pay VAT, corporation tax, or anything else, and often the sole trader who wound them up starts a new company totally free of any tax liability.

We need to get the money we are due much more than we need to curb spending. Changing the law to make tax a personal and not company liability should be a priority.

The sum the government is missing out on is in the region of 17 billion pounds a year.

I've never understood why people get more conservative as they get older.

I'm 71, and probably more left wing now than I was in my twenties. My parents were always solid Labour voters too, even though they were very comfortably off. My MIL is 88, and still votes Labour, despite being "not a racist but...".

I hated the last government. The way they trashed all public services to the point prisoners had to be let out early due to no space and ambulances had huge waits. The way they accidentally bumbled out of the EU. 🙄 The way they prioritise the old to buy votes, while neglecting the young. The way they ignored the housing crisis

As a small business owner, I feel despair. We are trying to exist alongside a Government that doesn't want us to succeed and employ people.

As a mother/grandmother, I feel even more despair at the undocumented men we're giving a red carpet to on a daily basis.

Because the Tories did such a good job, changing Prime Minister every five minutes, fucking up Brexit, the pandemic, and tanking the economy under Liz Truss…
