I hate what Brexit, the captured media and lack of critical thinking has done to this country, the actions of the current government less so.

None of it makes sense because socialist governments don’t move from a logical perspective but an ideological one. You can see the idiocy in their policies but that doesn’t matter to them or their voters who’s ideological aim is to punish the ‘rich’; which is to say anyone who has more than they do. It seems they would rather everyone was equally poor rather than everyone being better off but some people being very wealthy. Eventually, as always happens enough of those who voted them in will be negatively impacted by their damaging policies and they will be voted out leaving the next government an almighty task to put the country back on a healthy trajectory. Before anyone brings up Rachael Reeves mythical black hole I should remind people that the previous Conservative administration was fiscally hammered by COVID and a global financial crash.

While Labour are making mistakes, I don't think they are given credit for things they are doing and trying to do. Everyone too expects instant results despite the absolute mess they inherited from the last gov who trashed our country completely and didn't even try to make it better. Labour too have a couple of wars to contend with, none of this makes easy governing.

Agree. Loop holes need sorting out. I have a team leader on just less than 40k, he openly tells us he puts so much in his pension he takes home the same as a general op. His partner doesnt work, they have 4 kids, all now at school. He should be living off his wages not tucking it away and taking top ups. Someone else has dropped a days work because they now have a child so they get top ups and doesnt make much difference to them.
