In a petrol station buying a coffee at nine thirty in the morning. Looking down realised that the young woman behind me was wearing obvious pyjamas. And slippers. Then looking up to see a fluffy cream dressing gown.

I can't decide if it matters. I was brought up to believe that it shows a complete lack of self respect, and a lack of respect for anyone else, but does it, these days?

YABU. Perfectly normal wear for filling up your car.

YANBU. What is the world coming to that anyone thinks that's reasonable.

Also if she really was post-hospital and too frail / unwell / post-operative to dress, it’s highly unlikely she’d have popped into the garage on the way home. Surely, in a pj / hospital situation, you’d likely be being driven home…..

So your happy with a topless woman out and about doing there daily errands but someone in a dressing gown is the pit of society 😬 that is hilarious sorry 🤣🤣the world is broken.

I think I prefer the PJs to the fashion atm for skirts that are shorter than their knickers. At least they're decent and look warm😅

PPs may think I need therapy but I do not come down stairs until I am fully dressed. It is my daily routine to prepare for the day.

Work out, shower, moisturise my skin, get dressed, do hair and make up. And I am ready. Bring it on!

My DGC have never even seen me in nightwear.

This is why I physically could not step out of my front door in anything less than dressed.
My nightwear goes on when I go up to bed.

Yes… how you present outside of the house is a representation of you and the business you work for. Obviously. Work you and leisure you aren’t separate people.

Well ive lived here for years and my corner shop sees me in scruffs straight from the gym, fancy work clothes, straight from the beach (usually bikini top and jean shorts), night out clothes, walk of shame clothes (dating days), mad dash for wine in pjs , and big corporate meeting days. Business is going great, no-one has gasped in horror at my attire and Ive bumped into loads of people, staff, clients included, in there and other places. Saw a v. high up CEO client in our onestop just in his wet shorts and sliders straight from the beach this summer. He was buying ice and bbq stuff. Might have checked out his rather lovely chest, but other than that we had a very nice convo about how nice our local beach is and what a hidden gem it is and arent we lucky.

So yeah, I will keep doing exactly what im doing. I honestly just think this thread has brought out the crazies. But even if not, I dont really care.

I'll probably get flamed for this but I go out in my pyjamas. I'm always dressed decently, long loungers and a hoodie etc. After a long shift or feeling shit and need something quickly from the corner shop, if I'm in and out the car in a few minutes, I'm not getting properly dressed. Other than the Muppets characters what's the difference between that and trackie bottoms.
