To say all pro-Palestinians should watch Fauda on Netflix?

Now it is a drama about how the Israeli security services deal with the conflict but it is apparently pretty accurate and is amazingly well produced and acted.

Season 5, which covers Oct 7th has just come out after a long delay.

I've had to take a break after episode 7 because it's so distressing but it still doesn't even come close to what happened that day.

I think it's gives a clearer idea as to the truth of what has been going on and it does try to give a perspective from both sides.

I think every pro-Palestinian should watch it.

@GentleSheep "These people just don’t share our mindset and values and the best you can do is protect yourself against them."

This statement, and the thinking behind it, is evil. I don't know what faith if any you are, but this is really disgusting - how on earth could you know what's in the minds and hearts of a million plus people?

I think posters like that think if they keep repeating it on every thread, that it will start to become gradually acceptable, like the effect of water on stone.

Frequency · 09/09/2026 17:53

What if you're "anti" both sides?

What Hamas did that day was beyond awful.
What Isreal are doing is genocide.

The only "good" side is the Palestinian and Isreali citizens who are paying the price of their governments actions.

I think it's unreasonable to assume people who hold a different perspective must be less educated on the topic.

My own perspective is that the events of Sept 7th were horrifying, but cannot justify genocide.

I sincerely doubt a tv show will change that perspective. I think I'm fairly well informed, but even if I was to discover that Sept 7th was even more horrific than I already think it was, I can't imagine how any reasonable person would then say genocide is justified or acceptable.

"I'm fairly well informed..."
repeatedly doesn't even know when Oct 7th was
😜

Bringemout · 09/09/2026 17:58

ICC literally said they don’t have enough evidence to charge Israel with Genocide yet people keep repeating this.

Dappy777 · 09/09/2026 18:00

I won't be watching, nor would I watch a drama from the opposite point of view. I wish both sides well, but it's none of my business. I am too busy clinging on to what is left of my own f-ing identity and culture to worry about anyone else's.

The left are so smug and self-righteous about the Palestinians. Yet it is the globalist left who have destroyed the identities and cultures of Western Europe. They have done all they can to make us hate and reject our own history. They have demonised our national heroes, torn down our statues, and 'de-colonised' our libraries. They 'cancel' people who speak out, or they hound them from their jobs. They have IMPOSED multiculturalism on us, and and made us frightened to protest. They do all that, then expect us to care about the Palestinians!

Help if you could even get the date of the massacre right!

Just to note it wasn't me who said that, I was mis-quoted. I presume the post was too old to be edited and changed.

Why is it no side in this debate seems to be able to differentiate between state, government and people?

People who are pro Palestine aren't necessarily in support of the Hamas government. People who are pro Israel aren't necessarily in support of the Netanyahu government.

Grumpyoldcat · 09/09/2026 18:08

No thanks.

Maybe watch it then come to an opinion, or don't and don't share an uninformed one?

I am informed enough to know that it is incredibly disrespectful to make money off the too recent loss of life due to a conflict that is by no means concluded.

I don’t need to pay blood money to the producers and watch what they are selling in order to be informed.

I feel the same way about the Hind Rajab film if it makes you feel any better.

I don’t care what their purported reasons are for doing it, it is my opinion that cashing in on tragedy is disrespectful to the peoples who have lost and are still losing lives in this war.

The ICC have not said this. Also, the ICC doesn’t charge any country with anything because they prosecute individuals for war crimes, not countries. The ICJ has yet to rule on whether Israel has committed genocide.

"and don't share an uninformed one" ironic.

a) There is no justification for genocide.

b) There is no justification for collective punishment.

c) There is no justification for apartheid. How can a country exist where one population has all their human rights upheld and another, no rights at all?

When Zionists talk about Palestinians somehow deserving what's happened to them for being "Hamas supporters" I always wonder whether they imagine like, surveys taking place or sth.

Also, LGBT+ activists don't give a shite whether the people they're standing up for approve of them or not, not the point - the point is to stand up for universal human rights, and to fight for people being oppressed. See: LGBT+ at the Miner's strikes in the 80s.

There was LGB support of the miners, absolutely no ‘ T’ involved

FeeFiFoFiddlyFum · 09/09/2026 18:48

I think people are better advised to keep up to date with the news than watch propaganda fiction.

The Times of Israel has received confirmation of the Haaretz report that Netanyahu was warned of a planned Hamas attack ahead of October 7 and failed to pass this warning on to Israel’s security leaders.

Awaits reason why Times of Israel is an unacceptable news source. Any source which criticises Netanyahu and Israeli government is unacceptable to OP, I imagine.

Sounds like you’ve consumed plenty of propaganda yourself!

Who has lost more lives in the last year, the last ten years, the last 50 years ? Would I be correct in thinking more Palestinian children have died than Israelis of any age ? This conflict is horrific.

but there isn’t a “right” side or a “good” side

The report is from Haaretz, NOT the TOI.

Netanyahu is suing Haaretz as it's a lie.

Unsurprising that a leftist rag is spewing lies about a right wing leader just before an election isn't it.

From Episode 7 where it showed what happened to Eli's family, it is horrific and it was tame compared to what actually happened.

They used that one fictional family to depict what hundreds of families went through that day.

Nothing has ever made me more angry in my life tbh.

How anyone can support the 'Palestinian cause' is beyond me.

An entire population of a country cannot be held responsible for the actions of a group, can you explain why you think they should be?
We bombed Iraq, should they target your child's school or local hospital for the actions of Tony Blair's government?

For what its worth I don't strongly support either side, but I strongly disagree with the targeting of civilians and in particular children. October 7th was horrifying, no one is disputing that, but its not justification for the eradication of an entire populace.
