To say all pro-Palestinians should watch Fauda on Netflix?

Now it is a drama about how the Israeli security services deal with the conflict but it is apparently pretty accurate and is amazingly well produced and acted.

Season 5, which covers Oct 7th has just come out after a long delay.

I've had to take a break after episode 7 because it's so distressing but it still doesn't even come close to what happened that day.

I think it's gives a clearer idea as to the truth of what has been going on and it does try to give a perspective from both sides.

I think every pro-Palestinian should watch it.

If you think its propaganda, then by all means point out the specific places where it is wrong or sharing misinformation.
But if you simply refuse to watch something simply because it doesn't fit with what you already think and believe someone even seeing it, is 'appeasement', then it may be you who has been sucked in by propaganda.
If its wrong, show your workings but simply insisting people don't engage makes it sound like you don't have facts on your side.

Are you under the impression that people who are horrified by what is happening in Gaza and the West Bank don’t realise that the 7th October massacre was also utterly horrifying?

I hate this adversarial mindset.

I think it's unreasonable to assume people who hold a different perspective must be less educated on the topic.

My own perspective is that the events of Sept 7th were horrifying, but cannot justify genocide.

I sincerely doubt a tv show will change that perspective. I think I'm fairly well informed, but even if I was to discover that Sept 7th was even more horrific than I already think it was, I can't imagine how any reasonable person would then say genocide is justified or acceptable.

I am going to add that fact checking data is part of my day job and I have never seen anything like the levels of misinformation, bad faith framing and some times outright fabrication that has come out on social media and even otherwise respectable media with respect to this conflict.
It has been deeply shocking how many times I have seen people share stories that are disproved by basic fact checking.
I strongly recommend that anyone interested in this conflict takes the time to research the complex history, context and culture involved and apply some critical thinking. Yes, on both sides.
This is an information war as much as it is a physical one.

Id recommend the Israeli documentary Tantura or perhaps the work of Israeli historian Illan Pappe, or the testimony of Dr Mark Perlmutter in the film American Doctor.

It's such a good series. Some episodes in series 5 are pretty hard to watch though ( I watched series 5 before it came out on Netflix yesterday). I would recommend end everyone give it a watch.

Why would you assume Fauda, basically an action TV show with high-thrills drama made by two ex-IDF members, would be in any way magically free of bias?

For what it's worth, I'll watch Fauda and will do so with a critical eye. I am very aware that it is likely to come from one particular viewpoint. It's a fictional series and one I haven't seen, but I will be interested to watch it.
Same as I have watched and read a wide range of Pro-Palestinian films, books, and voices. I follow people who are pro and anti on both sides.
And that is fascinating because you often see the same breaking news story from different angles.
Often both sides leave out important context, even when genuinely felt, and that is often then spun out by various online trolls and bots into a range of exaggerated claims and conspiracy theories, the deeper you go.
I'm certainly not claiming anyone believe me or anyone else on faith. That's the opposite of what this conflict needs.
My 'recommendation' is that people take the time to do their own basic fact checking and do their best to make sure that their opinions are as informed as possible.
It's that simple. And I stand by that.

I have noticed an increase in Hasbara type posts and threads in the last few days. I don't think that is coincidental given the current stance our government is taking against Israel.
