To say all pro-Palestinians should watch Fauda on Netflix?

Now it is a drama about how the Israeli security services deal with the conflict but it is apparently pretty accurate and is amazingly well produced and acted.

Season 5, which covers Oct 7th has just come out after a long delay.

I've had to take a break after episode 7 because it's so distressing but it still doesn't even come close to what happened that day.

I think it's gives a clearer idea as to the truth of what has been going on and it does try to give a perspective from both sides.

I think every pro-Palestinian should watch it.

Well you've got a well balanced and reasonable perspective.

You want us to watch fiction to hear “the truth” ?

Donotpanicoknowpanic · 09/09/2026 15:48

What Hamas did to Israel was bad

But that is no excuse for Israel to then commit countless war crimes against innocent civilians in Palestine

No country in the war is innocent

Israel has committed numerous war crimes

Palestine is also just as guilty

Gosh wow. I am a Zionist and believe the Jewish people should have their own homeland, right where it is now. Do I agree with everything Israel is doing? No. Still, I support the Jewish people and always will. Your hatred won't change that.

Ablondiebutagoody · 09/09/2026 15:50

Everyone knows what happened. Some people just hate Jews enough to think it was fine. A TV show won't change that.

pandarific · 09/09/2026 15:51

a) There is no justification for genocide.

b) There is no justification for collective punishment.

c) There is no justification for apartheid. How can a country exist where one population has all their human rights upheld and another, no rights at all?

When Zionists talk about Palestinians somehow deserving what's happened to them for being "Hamas supporters" I always wonder whether they imagine like, surveys taking place or sth.

Also, LGBT+ activists don't give a shite whether the people they're standing up for approve of them or not, not the point - the point is to stand up for universal human rights, and to fight for people being oppressed. See: LGBT+ at the Miner's strikes in the 80s.

I have noticed an increase in Hasbara type posts and threads in the last few days. I don't think that is coincidental given the current stance our government is taking against Israel.

Hysterical!

I only WISH I was paid by Israel.

Look, antisemitism is a very real and growing problem and there certainly are people who hate Jews enough to think the massacre was fine. That is the sad truth.

However, it’s disingenuous to imply everyone who expresses support for Palestinians thinks 7th October was totally fine because they hate Jews. You must know that is not the case.

FriendlyMedusa · 09/09/2026 15:55

I voted YABU because I'm not sure what a fictional TV show that doesn't even try to present a balanced view has to do with anything.

I also find it offensive that you assume being pro-Palestine means we don't know or care deeply about October 7th. You can care about people in both countries.

And this type of blatant racism against Palestinians is why so many children have been allowed to be killed.

FuadaFan · 09/09/2026 15:57

TBF I would say Fauda, as a fictional TV show based around lived experiences of the Israeli security services is still more believable and accurate than the majority of pro-Pal propaganda on SM.

"Our mindset" who do you think you are speaking on behalf of?! Your mindset sounds a little racist to me so I definitely don't share it!

Yes. I’m sure that poster would be the first to deny there is a genocide. And yet this post contains all the dehumanising rhetoric that has been used to justify every genocide there has ever been.

They're not like us, there are no civilians, everyone is compromised (yes, even the babies, because after all won’t they one day grow up to be subhumans like their parents?).

@GentleSheep "These people just don’t share our mindset and values and the best you can do is protect yourself against them."

This statement, and the thinking behind it, is evil. I don't know what faith if any you are, but this is really disgusting - how on earth could you know what's in the minds and hearts of a million plus people?

Stating facts is not racism.

Have you ever investigated/seen what actually goes on in Palestinian society and the ideology around the constant rejection of a Palestinian State?

If not, I'd kindly suggest it's wholly disingenuous to immediately jump to a knee jerk 'racist' accusation.

Also Palestinians aren't a race btw. Did you mean racism to Arabs?

I’ve loved the Fauda series but not sure I’m made of strong enough stuff to watch this one if from what you’re saying, it depicts anything to do with what those animals did on Oct 7th. I’d need to know how far it went before I watched it.. I’m sure it won’t go anywhere near strangulation of babies (Kfir Bibas) but it wouldn’t even have to go that far to make it unwatchable to me.

You hold deeply biased and derogatory views about Palestinians. Why should anyone listen to your recommendations? Be honest, do you think anyone reading this thread, who you consider as pro-Palestine, will be convinced by your increasingly offensive posts?

Terrifying.

pandarific · 09/09/2026 16:05

"in fact these so called “civilians” helped disguise tunnels, harboured hostages and raise their children to hate Israel."

...and none of these things, which are common by the way in disputed territories, justify genocide, or the collective punishment of an entire population.

Or alternatively read Medecins Sans Frontiers accounts of what’s happening on the ground in Gaza. You know, factual accounts of actual genocide, not fiction derived from one faction’s version of events.
