To say all pro-Palestinians should watch Fauda on Netflix?

Now it is a drama about how the Israeli security services deal with the conflict but it is apparently pretty accurate and is amazingly well produced and acted.

Season 5, which covers Oct 7th has just come out after a long delay.

I've had to take a break after episode 7 because it's so distressing but it still doesn't even come close to what happened that day.

I think it's gives a clearer idea as to the truth of what has been going on and it does try to give a perspective from both sides.

I think every pro-Palestinian should watch it.

Have a medal for your memory

You get to a certain age and that isn't an insult anymore

You get to a certain age and 'oh it's you' isn't an insult either, especially as I have no idea who you are.

I don't think 'Oh it is you' is ever an insult is it

Simply acknowledgement of seeing you on other threads doing this policing of posts thing you like to do

Ironically for you, telling someone 'oh it's you' isn't an acknowledgement; it's a way of signalling that my participation is unwelcome. Which is the definition of policing a thread.

Interesting time for this post. Anything to do with this ? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c4g7zen0vveo

Nope sorry, the new season just started on Netflix yesterday.

Just as rational to suspect Milband's announcement was something to do with that I guess?

What part of 'Palestine' do you want to free?

Shall we start with the 1967 borders ?

FuadaFan · 09/09/2026 17:17

Haaretz?

The extreme leftist rag with the lowest circulation in Israel and which no one had heard of before Oct 7th, but which is now massively elevated as some font of truth by pro-Palestinians?

Not a very reliable or unbiased source is it now? You should check the credentials of what you refer to for information.

Netanyahu is suing it I believe (in a personal capacity) as it seems that article is another work of fiction so very apt you're promoting it to counter a fictional TV drama!

Weren't the Palestinians offered that several times 20 years ago?

Why did they reject it?

You hold deeply biased and derogatory views about Palestinians. Why should anyone listen to your recommendations? Be honest, do you think anyone reading this thread, who you consider as pro-Palestine, will be convinced by your increasingly offensive posts?

Edited

I don’t claim to be any expert in Palestinian/Gazan society, but one thing I did see with my own eyes on news coverage of 7th Oct was Shani Louk, the German/Israeli girl who’s body was taken to Palestine and paraded as a trophy to ‘ordinary’ Palestinians who were jeering and cheering. No mistaking their appetite for it.

The offer wasn’t just borders, it was a whole package of arrangements which couldn’t be agreed on ultimately

Israel is in breach of a UN resolution and should unilaterally leave on that basis.

From Episode 7 where it showed what happened to Eli's family, it is horrific and it was tame compared to what actually happened.

They used that one fictional family to depict what hundreds of families went through that day.

Nothing has ever made me more angry in my life tbh.

How anyone can support the 'Palestinian cause' is beyond me.

Do you genuinely think this is a one-sided battle, where Palestine is bad and Israel is good, and the only victims are the poor people brutally killed on 7/10?

To you it may be to me it is conversation and observation

I am very observat and chatty by nature

Personality difference I think

NullaEffugium · 09/09/2026 17:32

I feel it is disrespectful to exploit Oct 7th for money no matter whether one has lost relatives in Israel or relatives in Palestine. There are so many dead that haven’t been found and buried. The war is still on going.

We all know Fauda wasn’t realistic to begin with, so I don’t see how it could be used in an historical education context.

Maybe it’s a recruiting tool?

comeoncolleen · 09/09/2026 17:34

Nonsense.

Israel is in breach of a UN resolution and should unilaterally leave on that basis.

The actual facts don't reflect that opinion but it was ultimately a rejection by the 'poor, oppressed Palestinians living a hellish existence under a genocidal occupation'.

A rational person would argue that accepting the offer would have given a very different outcome than what we see today, but a rational person would also understand that there was never any chance of the offer being accepted because that would have ended the conflict, which is not in the Palestinian's interests while Israel exists, or in the billion $ industry which exists because of it.

UN resolutions aren't binding and I can quite understand why Israel treats the UN with the contempt it deserves.

No drama I could watch would be more impactful than the news reports and other real life sources of information or make me think that Palestinians don't have the same right to life, self-determination and safety as anyone else.

Bringemout · 09/09/2026 17:40

Zionist isn’t really an insult, it just means you think Israel has a right to exist. I’m of the view that no country has an inalienable right to exist, of course that also means I don’t think Palestine has a right to exist either.

Christ on a bike that didn't take long! Why is ok to spout Jew hate left right and centre but the second anyone criticises Islam they're committing genocide? (yes, I'm being dramatic.) You don't see people who support Israel screaming genocide every 5 fucking minutes yet Islamic terrorism is responsible for so many THOUSANDS of deaths the world over, just in the last 2 decades!

Obviously I was being ironic.
It's about as reliable a source of information as a Netflix drama written from a particular point of view.
A bit anti-Semitic of you to call an Israeli Jewish newspaper a "rag".

Definitely getting more and more like actual propaganda now. Interesting 🤔
