AIBU to list retailers that routinely use Evri for deliveries so we can avoid them?

I am utterly sick of how Evri deliveries are so incredibly bad. I have had parcels go missing, non deliveries, poor communication etc. It is with almost everything that they seem to try and deliver. I don't live anywhere remote or hard to access. I have decided to not shop online with retailers that routinely use Evri to deliver.

AIBU to suggest that we use this thread to list stores that use Evri to deliver online orders so Mumsnetters can decide whether to shop there or not.

I'll start
Reiss
John Lewis
Sweaty Betty (who also use Evri to do their in-store collections in Waitrose shops so even that option is flawed).

Really bad here. Look fantastic

SusanChurchouse · 07/09/2026 21:29

They’ve lost 2 of my parcels recently.

Zooplus
Baukjen

Local Evri courier is really nice but I think the problems are further along the chain. I’ve stopped using them as a delivery option on Vinted for this reason.

LotteLatte · 07/09/2026 21:31

My Evri driver is great.
Amazon are shocking, Royal Mail hit and miss and DPD rubbish.

TheOGCCL · 07/09/2026 21:31

I think some retailers use different couriers for different things, eg John Lewis.

Evri round our way is complicated. There's our regular guy where things always come when expected. But also a separate circuit where it's all over the place so even if I knew it was Evri I still wouldn't know which Evri franchise it was.

Nightnova · 07/09/2026 21:32

I've never had a problem with Evri. I mostly use the Evri locker at the local shop though.

InterestedDad37 · 07/09/2026 21:36

For me, Evri = only one problem out of many deliveries.
Royal Mail = brilliant
Amazon = excellent
FedEx = terrible, tell total lies and make no effort whatsoever.

Supersimkin7 · 07/09/2026 21:37

Evri are shit.

Next.

Jembot · 07/09/2026 21:38

Check the T&Cs when posting tech. Some is explicitly excluded from their compensation package.

We were forced by the retailer to use Evri for a return of a laptop but Evri do not pay compensation for lost laptops. Blanket policy. Laptop went AWOL, we lost our money, Evri and the retailer (Tesco) both just said not our problem. It was Catch 22.

Out Evri woman is great. The idea that we should know who is doing the delivery before placing the order is fine, but OP slagging off Evri as though her experience is the default throughout the land is a bit off.

My Evri delivery driver is fantastic! I’m often leaving 5 stars! 🌟

Same here. He’s great.

DanceMumTaxi · 07/09/2026 22:06

My Evri driver is fab. Never had a problem.

TheBayHorse · 07/09/2026 22:13

Evri are hopeless in our area but I guess it varies depending where you are.

I know everyone slags them off but the woman who does the bulk of our Evri deliveries is a lovely woman. Really friendly and helpful, and knows if we don't answer the door on a sunny day we're usually in the garden so she comes around the back.

We used to never have a problem with Evri but clearly either Evri are tightening the screws on their delivery staff or the local employees have changed and they've gone to shite. The last John Lewis delivery I had the delivery person claimed they attempted three deliveries in less than 15 minutes and then sent the item back to John Lewis. I was so angry.

goingtotown · 07/09/2026 22:19

Never had a problem with Evri.

TheMammySheep · 07/09/2026 22:38

Evri are amazing where I live

MeNotYouJustMe · 07/09/2026 22:40

Have used Evri on Vinted for two years now - have sold dozens of items and not one issue. YABU.

ThePoliteLion · 07/09/2026 22:53

Evri awful here. Royal Mail good.

Mapletreelane · 07/09/2026 23:05

We have a fab Evri man and the chap before him was excellent too. I think a lot depends on person though.

Our postie is great too.

Whenever I've ordered from John Lewis the courier has been DPD.
I also have to say that I've been receiving Evri deliveries since the early 2000s, whenever Hermes first came to this country, so literally hundreds of deliveries, and never had a problem. In the early days, the couriers were usually mothers wanting a job that they could fit around kids, or else retired people. They were often quite local and very flexible, often hanging on to things if they didn't want to leave a parcel sitting in the rain and one of them also let people pick them up from her house if they wanted them that day. There were no such things as delivery slots then either. Things have changed since then but I've still not had any problems.

What…….. they just get left on our doorstep

notacooldad · 08/09/2026 00:00

Ive never had a problem to be honest and dh swears I keep Amazon in buisness with the amount of parcels I get.
They are left in the inside porch if im home or at the back door or in the shed if im not in.

Thecatspantaloons · 08/09/2026 01:39

I just want the option of a locker or a store pick up because they are all fcking useless IMHO. I don't want to leave it up to the universe whether someone steals my package outside of my front door, despite me being in and the very obvious instructions 😩. And I also don't want to have launch investigations .

I don't care how difficult their jobs are, it's so not my problem.

Anarchy99 · 08/09/2026 04:02

Their drivers are fantastic IME. We have used them for years and never an issue.

double0seven · 08/09/2026 04:09

Our Evri Delivery Man is great. On first name terms. I tip him £10 at Christmas because we are off the beaten track and he is reliable.
