AIBU to list retailers that routinely use Evri for deliveries so we can avoid them?

I am utterly sick of how Evri deliveries are so incredibly bad. I have had parcels go missing, non deliveries, poor communication etc. It is with almost everything that they seem to try and deliver. I don't live anywhere remote or hard to access. I have decided to not shop online with retailers that routinely use Evri to deliver.

AIBU to suggest that we use this thread to list stores that use Evri to deliver online orders so Mumsnetters can decide whether to shop there or not.

Evri is brilliant in my area and Royal Mail are abysmal so 🤷‍♀️

Evri are cheap. A lot of retailers offer alternative carriers that are more expensive for in theory a more reliable service.

It depends entirely on your local depot.

Evri here are fantastic. DPD are good. Royal Mail have absolutely gone to shit

Don't have a problem currently with Evri at home or work because I have a regular courier. That makes a massive difference.

DPD on the other hand, and Amazon. Don't even get me started on how many "sorry we missed you" messages I've had trying to get deliveries to a high street shop, when it is open 😒. Not to mention DPD dropping boxes marked fragile in the middle of the shop floor and wondering why the glass inside makes a sound and I'm running out on to the shop floor telling them not to just drop a box wherever they feel like. Fuckwits the lot of them.

The only.companies that never cause a problem are where they manage to keep their staff. Not many of those though.

Yes - we’re lucky as I’ve never had any problems with them and I get a lot of stuff delivered.

Yeah, here too. Odd how it’s so regional. If somethings coming by either Royal Mail or Evri I’m happy. DPD and Yodel also ok. DHL or Citilink however and I’ll just assume I’m never seeing that, or at least not in one piece.

Evri is absolutely dire, before people buy anything the seller should inform if the carrier, as I would always avoid if using evri.

I’ve had terrible experiences with George at Asda since they starting using them. They are really reluctant to refund when a parcel is missing.

My local Evri driver won’t deliver to us, because he claims he is scared of my husband as he was abusive to him.

What really happened is my husband asked him to knock on the door because we work from home and so we are always there but had a parcel or two go missing because he had just left on the front step of a busy road. Then the driver claimed he always knocked so he put up a ring doorbell. How very abusive of us.

The driver decided to start taking photos of our house and noting parcel undeliverable as property inaccessible (very much not the case) so we complained, and that was when the claim of my husband being abusive came in…the complaint then got rejected because of the fake abuse claim and he is supposed to give our parcels to another driver, but instead he returns them to sender. We have also had 2 instances of the parcels being sent to random addresses 10s of miles away, and after Evri have investigated they can see that they were redirected by someone else in the depot (funny that)

I HATE them.

Evri is a mixed bag where I live. Often get FB posts on Spotted groups asking "does anyone recognise this front door" - see the bottom 30cm. "Does anyone recognise the tattoo" on someone who took a parcel in and photo shows someone's tattooed leg.

Also they get addresses mixed up. People living in Hill Close get parcels for Hull Close - the nearest Hull Close (using a made up example) is 10 miles away.

Also in the town where my office is located is 18 miles from home and signed up to a FB Spotted for things like roadworks etc. They get packages for CD12 3JG when their postcode is CD13 2JG

I’ve never had issues with Evri.

Evri reversed into our oil tank after delivering a parcel and drove off leaving diesel pouring out and causing thousands of pounds of damage.
Luckily someone saw what happened and were able to plug the hole until we could get a temporary tank there and a company in to do a fuel transfer.
We could never get any response out of their telephone or email contact and I even tried emailing their chief executive Martijn de Lange who ovbiously sets the low standards with no response either.
To add insult to injury the driver then didn't deliver to us for another month.
I switched my Next deliveries to Dpd after that and avoid them wherever possible.

Sigh. This still involves Evri delivering things. And for me this would involve a 15 mile round trip to the nearest ‘local shop’.

I’d rather have my stuff delivered by an actual delivery service instead.

Royal Mail are terrible where i am wrong post and cards for undelivered parcels that were for a totally different town but same street name all in the past 2 weeks.

They tried to deliver parcels to me at almost midnight multiple times in a row.

Adding my thumbs up to Evri, our local delivery person is excellent. I'd actively choose them if I shopped online and was given a choice

In fact all the delivery companies are fine in my area

I’ve had a couple of Evri deliveries recently when ordering stuff from Amazon.

The first was a bag of compost and it turned into the biggest most stressful palaver with several attempted deliveries (they refused to leave it where I asked them to) before they lost it!

More recently, some toiletries that also never got delivered.

Evri are total shite and I would probably avoid anyone that used them.

Brilliant. If I knew a company used Evri, i'd avoid them.

Problem is retailers don't always use the same company. Evri are terrible here but it's slightly better having parcels delivered to the post office rather than left on some random doorstep.
