To be sick to death of Andy Burnham already

Viviennemary · 17/07/2026 20:57

I'm sick to death already of seeing Andy Burnham and hearing his voice. And he isnt even PM yet. Come back Keir Starmer. All is forgiven. I dont know how I'm going to suffer 3 or four more years of him in charge. Playing the part of the working class hero who is going to save the country. Give me strength.

Interesting to see @Viviennemaryhas come back to her almost full thread only 3 times and said absolutely nothing significant about why she dislikes Andy Burnham. Only personal insults about his voice and accusing him of being a working class hero, which he has never in any way displayed.
It's almost as if she's afraid he's going to bring in some changes she won't like 🤔

Who Burnham?

Nope Cameron, Johnson,Truss,Sunak, Starmer et al. We are a childish, entitled nation which expects the government to solve everything without demanding anything of us.

Bluestar1971 · 18/07/2026 18:33

Who would you prefer reform and the racists ?

I think plenty of other posters have set out why they dislike Burnham.

Look at your own. Own it and move on.

You have zero self awareness.

Indeed there has but as you can see by my post I was particularly referencing the OP's lack of input apart from personal attacks.
Sad to start a thread like this and maintain radio silence.

Well we’ve got Burnham now so it applies to him too.

Nothing wrong with my comprehension skills. It's my patience for rudeness that is low.

I think the real juvenile label belongs to the Labour back benches.

I’m a born and raised Sussex girl and honestly I find it hilarious how riled up my fellow southerners are getting about the prospect of a northern PM! In my opinion it’s about time that the Eton lot leave. And before you say Keir was different, no he wasn’t he went to a prestigious Surrey grammar school in a very wealthy area

You do realise that Andy Burnham went to Cambridge? 😂

BurtsBeefCrisps · 18/07/2026 18:52

People have short memories, would you prefer that privilaged and arrogant Toff Cameron who ruined the country with brexit and the millions wasted, with literally NO gain! Or Johnson who wasted billions of tax payers money on dodgy PPE and let people die in care homes? Or should we invite Truss back to tank the economy. Your post represents what is wrong, a spoilt disengaged mindset. Have you ever joined a party, campaigned or lobbied for change for the greater good? I’ll be amazed if you have. FFS!

It's not because he's Northern - it's because he's stoking the North-South divide implying that we're all rolling in cash in the South.

We're in a poor area in the South, but presumably will be subsidising those up North.

Interesting that you've contributed no substance except for being rude to everyone. Just because you love Burnham, doesn't mean everyone else has to. Adults have choices.

He went to Fitz, some would argue it’s not really Cambridge.

Yesterday, he talked about rural areas and coastal areas being deprived, not just former 8ndustrial towns in the North.

There are a few ex-ministers who found they had extra time on their hands. I'll leave the description of these kind of machinations to John Major:

Mr Major is prime minister. He could easily find three new cabinet members.
Mr Major then bares his soul. "I could bring in other people. But where do you think most of this poison is coming from? From the dispossessed and the never-possessed. You can think of ex-ministers who are going around causing all sorts of trouble.
"We don't want another three more of the ** out there.

I think that was an after thought because he's already facing criticism. I'll believe it when I see it.

sunstreaming · 18/07/2026 19:03

To the people saying 'he has no experience of politics/House of Commons', he was an MP for 12 years!

Bunny65 · 18/07/2026 19:03

Just be grateful it isn't Nigel Farage. The country has got used to the idea of disposable prime ministers ever since David Cameron threw in the towel. It's a terrible idea, as people now think of the leader like a Pop Idol contest.

The Labour majority is around 170 NOT 400!
