To be sick to death of Andy Burnham already

I'm sick to death already of seeing Andy Burnham and hearing his voice. And he isnt even PM yet. Come back Keir Starmer. All is forgiven. I dont know how I'm going to suffer 3 or four more years of him in charge. Playing the part of the working class hero who is going to save the country. Give me strength.

And that is why the majority are switched off. We are left with left and right wing extremes. Personally I feel most are in it for the wrong reasons. But his accent is not a factor.

Neither was Boris' dress sense but that was up for a daily pisstake.

Tiptopflipflop · 17/07/2026 21:20

I hate the fact that he's likely going to pursue policies that wouldn't have won Labour a general election. It feels very wrong to me that a a party can win an election saying one thing. Then two years down the line put a new bloke in and pursue a new agenda.

It was not Boris's clothes that were important to me, I'm not superficial, honestly!

OK I believe you ❤️

I've been actively seeking stuff on Andy Burnham and I've seen him chatting to people in Cardiff, a speech on accepting the Labour leadership and a 2 minute thing about making tea with the milk in first. Where are you seeing him so often, as I'd like to see more of him myself.

Like the Tories did for 10 years?

Starmer will take some time out with Vick and his boys.

I hope you are proud of yourself. There is no need for this.

Can you point out what is wrong with what I have said because I fail to see how him spending some time with his wife and kids is offensive.

I agree with the OP. I’m already sick of his ‘I’m just a normal working class Northern man’ act. In reality he’s a middle class, Oxbridge educated, millionaire multi property owning, career politician who’s never had a job outside politics. Northern he is; ordinary ‘working man of the people’ he ain’t!

He’s an egotistical, shape shifter who I wouldn’t trust as far as I could throw … and I’m a Labour Party member from the North. We don’t all think he’s the Messiah!

Interesting.

I’m a middle class southerner as are most of my friends - not in the least bit riled. Seems like a breath of fresh air - but I’m also not pissed off about paying more tax. Redistribution of wealth needs to happen - we need to look to the Scandinavian countries for some inspiration.

He has a son and a daughter so you aren’t very well informed

I didn't like that either

OK I got it wrong. I thought he had two sons. That still doesn't make my sentiments offensive. Talk about looking for it.

Exactly. Pp is clearly gleefully referencing the rumours that stupid and vicious people were circulating a while back.

WTF are you talking about. It was an easy mistake to make. I know he refers to Victoria as Vic and I thought he had two sons. You can't do right for doing wrong on here. I was wishing him a good rest with his family.

He went to a regular school then Cambridge - What's your problem with his education?

puyr · 17/07/2026 21:32

you can criticise capitalism, but socialism is far far scarier.

keepincool · 17/07/2026 21:32

Well I hope he actually succeeds with Council Tax reforms, it will offset any tax rises for me. Although I appreciate it would take years to reevaluate properties.

It’s hilarious isn’t it
his ‘awful voice’
he hates the south
land tax

and I’m not remotely left wing, but I am northern and Liverpool born

i have never seen such an influx of negativity, makes boris look popular

HellsBells13 · 17/07/2026 21:34

You can put lipstick on a pig but, it's still a pig!

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 17/07/2026 21:34

Give the man a chance!

I mean, I didn’t think it was a good idea to get rid of Starmer but we can’t keep getting rid of them or turning on them as soon as they become PM.

LemonRedwood · 17/07/2026 21:34

Am I allowed to dislike him if I'm northern?

What's your definition of socialism? And what makes you fear it?
