I'm sick to death already of seeing Andy Burnham and hearing his voice. And he isnt even PM yet. Come back Keir Starmer. All is forgiven. I dont know how I'm going to suffer 3 or four more years of him in charge. Playing the part of the working class hero who is going to save the country. Give me strength.

And he said he's going to ask us to pay more tax.

Well he won't be asking us. He will be telling us because if he asked us we would be able to say no but we can't.

I have to say all this resurrecting of thatcher and the falklands has been a bit depressing!

I guess a large proportion of the population don’t remember the 70’s but I’ve certainly never had it described to me as a golden age to aspire to!

I don’t hate him and I really hope he can do what Starmer couldn’t. But I’ll be honest that I preferred Starmer and haven’t liked the internal party politics around this.

regardless of whether he is any good or not, I don’t want to see a change in PM before the next election and I am hopeful he will stick to what he has said about positive politics

I agree with the OP. I’m already sick of his ‘I’m just a normal working class Northern man’ act. In reality he’s a middle class, Oxbridge educated, millionaire multi property owning, career politician who’s never had a job outside politics. Northern he is; ordinary ‘working man of the people’ he ain’t!

He’s an egotistical, shape shifter who I wouldn’t trust as far as I could throw … and I’m a Labour Party member from the North. We don’t all think he’s the Messiah!

I’m a born and raised Sussex girl and honestly I find it hilarious how riled up my fellow southerners are getting about the prospect of a northern PM! In my opinion it’s about time that the Eton lot leave. And before you say Keir was different, no he wasn’t he went to a prestigious Surrey grammar school in a very wealthy area

And that is why the majority are switched off. We are left with left and right wing extremes. Personally I feel most are in it for the wrong reasons. But his accent is not a factor.

Starmer will take some time out with Vick and his boys.
