Well who is agitating for it?
It's much the same people who agitated for Brexit, the ones with a bent for uber-capitalism, deregulation, and fewer legal rights for the individual.
If you think they have anyone's best interests at heart, and are not just chasing yet more ££££ for themselves, then you aren't really paying attention.
Just ask yourself why anyone would want to remove legal protections, and why they'd do so only to immediately reinstate them via split new legislation. They wouldn't, because they have no intention of doing so no matter what they say. It's yet another pig in a poke being sold to the gullible in precisely the same way Brexit was.
Remember the Tory leavers assuring farmers and fishermen that they had nothing to fear from Brexit because the UK Government would make up the shortfall after EU subsidies were removed? A great many of them went out and voted Leave, and they're still waiting for that money to be made good. It's not nice to stand and say "we told you so", but really, some people deserve absolutely everything coming to them and can't be protected from their own stupidity.
