Count Binface has a genuine chance against Nigel Farage!

Sounds crazy but…

None of the major parties are competing…

Farage won Clacton with 46% of the vote…

If the 54% united together to vote for Binface, we could have the most preposterous election outcome of all time!

I reckon this could get some genuine momentum… all the other parties would LOVE this result, and even if they didn’t actively campaign for it, would surely quietly be gunning for Binface to win.

Although I don't count the pro- wildlife campaigner as a loon. Good for him.

Apparently the clairvoyant has pulled out because there are now " serious independent candidates" like (she named him) Luke Worley (late of MAFS and Naked Dating : UK) standing.

I honestly think Count B is going to wipe the literal floor with his 'opposition'.

There was a man known as Screaming Lord Sutch who stood as a protest candidate in multiple elections in the 60s and 70s. It is not a new thing and your parents would have known about him.

It's amazing that she didn't see that that was going to happen.

I grew up in the 70s and 80s and I think you are missing something there. Joke candidates providing an outlet for protest votes are absolutely nothing new at all

There was always Screaming Lord Sutch of The Official Monster Raving Loony Party. He always entered every by-election. My mother once voted for him when there was one in their constituency. At general elections he normally set up in the constituency of the serving Prime Minister, which for much of my childhood was Margaret Thatcher. She was the MP for Finchley in North London and I do clearly remember pictures of him next to her at the count there.

Everyone I knew was aware of him. There were others too, I am sure, but he was the highest profile one. There's no harm in having a sense of humour alongside politics.

For those posters earlier saying you'd have to be thick to live in Clacton there was a programme on today about Jaywick. I didn't hear it all as I was in the car going somewhere but not all the inhabitants are thick and to say so only confirms the view in some of their minds that they are looked down on and forgotten hence voting for the snake oil salesman. This helps no-one.

The impression I've always had about Jaywick is that most of the residents don't have many other accommodation choices available. Agree it's unpleasant to sneer at people who are generally down on their luck.

I don't remember any racism at my 1980s school but that was probably because it was very very white - the bitchy girls in my school found other things to have a go at people about.

Zwarte Piet is increasingly controversial in the Netherlands and seen less and less. Which is a good thing.

Willem Alexander's eldest went state all the way. Princess Ariane also attended Sorghvliet before going to Italy - I'm thinking 'finishing school'. It doesn't surprise me that Willem Alexander himself was sent away - he was certainly a handful when he was young. He was at Leiden University when I was a student there and was known as 'Prince Beer'. He regularly parked his BMWs in a canal too.

So certainyl not wall to wall private education - in fact state to 16 for all of then, Willem Alexander included.

Also the idea that the Dutch Royal Family is in any way socialist is laughable. It's just that there isn't a deeply rooted class system, and not a lot of private provision. Also no uniform.

Piers Corbyn is anti vaccination and thinks climate change isn't real. I imagine a lot of loopy right wing nutbags who are fed up with Farage might lend him their votes? Not sure how popular Fox is but he is locally based.
