Count Binface has a genuine chance against Nigel Farage!

Justveryveryangry · 08/07/2026 08:12

Sounds crazy but…

None of the major parties are competing…

Farage won Clacton with 46% of the vote…

If the 54% united together to vote for Binface, we could have the most preposterous election outcome of all time!

I reckon this could get some genuine momentum… all the other parties would LOVE this result, and even if they didn’t actively campaign for it, would surely quietly be gunning for Binface to win.

By definition, the people who 'wish they could vote for him' are not the people actually able to vote for him.

You’re right. I doubt Clacton voters who want to get shot of Farage would care. As someone who’d hold her nose and vote Tory to avoid a Reform government I know I wouldn’t.

Toohotforwork · 09/07/2026 18:38

I don't think Binface will accept money from one of Labour's core millionaire funders. If was elected would he then be morally obliged to take the Labour Whip. I'm sure he will get enough money from public funding to remain a true independent,.

DenizenOfAisleOfShame · 09/07/2026 18:42

Binface doesn’t need any big money.

His campaign is free publicity and comment, just like on here. What would he spend money on for his campaign? Tedious leaflets through the letter box? Stupid placards outside houses? He’d just make himself as irritating as any mainstream politician.

Ah, but if your vote helped to bring in a Tory government, once you’d let go of your nose you’d smell the sweet, sweet air of a Tory paradise.

Uricon2 · 09/07/2026 18:46

I think Dale Vince is a good guy and well intentioned and wouldn't expect any pro Labour loyalty if CB elected, but I agree that he can run an effective campaign without outside finance.

If you have to hold your nose to vote for a joke candidate then it's not funny.

The sweet smell won't disguise the stench

I can’t agree about that.

Why would it not be funny to have Binface beat Farage?

I’d vote Binface, early and often.

It’s not smelling of roses at the moment, to be honest.

I think you may have misunderstood my point. I think Clacton voters would be very irritated if they thought they were being patronised by 'progressives'.

Nothing in return, where have we heard that before!

It’s nothing of the sort. Twenty witness testimonies in a legal trial would be compelling evidence that would convince a jury.

Twenty witness testimonies doesn't mean twenty reliable witness testimonies, especially when there is a band-wagon to jump on.

I think I could deal with around ten of the testimonies/witnesses - pointing out inconsistences, hearsay and exaggeration. Also looking at their social media posts. Several witnesses have displayed an extreme anti-Brexit/anti-Reform stance on social media - despite claiming in signed letters and interviews that they are not politically motived. I've just spotted one of the witnesses posting on a Stop Reform Facebook Group this week.

A defence team employing private investigators could do much more than me. Then you've got the five or six named witnesses who say Farage was not racist at school, one of whom is Jewish, another with Asian heritage.

One of the 'star witnesses' (an alleged victim) is Yinka Bankole. I know I have posted about him before but I have just this minute thought of something else.

Bankole claims that Farage racially abused him on several occasions when he was aged 9 or 10. Farage would have been aged 16 at the time - in contrast to Bankole's original claim that Farage was 18. Bankole only attended the school for one year, he didn't know his abuser's name at the time, described his abuser as 'very tall' and says he recognised Farage from his walk;

"I recognise his walk every time I see it on TV as that same walk that used to approach me."

However, it has just occurred to me that Farage was seriously injured in several major accidents - struck by a car when he was aged 21 and involved in a plane crash. Sure enough, I've just checked, Farage almost lost his left leg in the car accident, spent two months in hospital with his leg in traction, and almost a year with his leg in a plaster cast.

If Farage has a distinctive walk, then surely this is due to the accident/s he had - not a walk he had as a schoolboy. If I were Farage's defence lawyer, I would suggest to Mr Bankole that he has misidentified my client.

I agree.

At the moment Binface has wide spread cross party support.

I think there is a danger that (for want of a better description) the 'Led by Donkeys' crowd are very bad at hearing how they sound to others.

Absolutely, anyone who seeks to attach themselves to a CBF “campaign” isn’t helping, and shows themselves to have misread the mood completely.

The only chance CBF has of winning is if he eschews all overt support, and even tacit support, from anyone remotely political.

Yes, if “progressives” try to make this their campaign, Binface has already lost.

He is currently popular because he is a joke. An anarchist. He is currently holding the support of Owen Jones and Kemi Badenoch. Imagine.

If he is funded by a wealthy Labour donor then he becomes the Labour candidate. Not a joke. Not an anarchist. Just another boring progressive who is pretending to be a space warrior which is now not charming, but embarrassing.

Quite agree. Part of his thing is policies that take the piss out of everyone. One of this main lines in Makerfield was that he would make it illegal for the Mayor of Manchester to resign and stand as an MP. The establishment parties can't get too close as they never know what he will say about them.

SmashThePatriarchy · 09/07/2026 18:59

I’d vote for Count Dracula if it meant wiping that smug grin off Farage’s face.

He went on Newsnight and berated them from going from doing serious investigative journalism to becoming a souped-up podcast.

That's what we want, a Jester who is outside the rules.

I agree.

I wouldn’t use ‘anarchist’ as a description, more ‘nobody’, ‘joker’, ‘outsider’, that sort of thing. But I think he should avoid any ties of funding - or any other ties - because he’s an unaffiliated comedy candidate that voters can project onto.

Mt563 · 09/07/2026 19:03

I actually think he'd be a great mp if elected. He'd definitely do more for Clacton than farage

Yeah, maybe. Some people are the real deal in terms of ethics, few and far between, admittedly. My DH knew Dale Vince professionally and said (and DH is an old cynic) that he thought him to be genuine (and nice, but that's beside the point of course)

Toohotforwork · 09/07/2026 19:05

If Count Binface doesn't win he will more than likely be standing against Burham again in Makerfield at the next general election. Labour probably don't want to promote the idea of electing the joke candidate over the big name because it is such a big old fashioned laugh. His majority wasn't that large by cabinet minister standards

Until all the icecream vans and icecream shops in Clacton go bust because it costs them more than 99p to produce a 99 flake.

He got more votes than all the other parties combined. Big majorities are a thing of the past now with so many contenders.
